JS: Mo and Yi potentially shutting it down? Pg. 4 update

Post#1 » by emunney » Fri Mar 7, 2008 8:03 am

The headline I've chosen is my reading of the article, as Mo is seeing a doctor to "determine the severity of his abdominal strain" and Yi is flying to LA to have "a bothersome right wrist examined by specialist." I predict that at least Yi is going to get an extended break from NBA basketball.

Here's the article, which is mostly about how awesome the Bucks are with Ivey starting (they're 7-9... that's playoff bound!).

Wasn't Yi out with an ankle against Seattle? Now the issue is his wrist? Shutting it down may be on the Yi-money, emunney!

Looks like we are starting the tanking again. I can see both Mo and Yi going out then couple weeks later Bogut getting shut down with a hip injury then Redd hurting him self dunking again.

I have Mo in my fantasy league. :x

Shutting them down before the playoff race even starts? Weak.

No you're looking at it all wrong. We're shutting them down now so we can they'll hopefully be healed enough to come back for the playoff race.

Well yeah but he said shutting them down for the season. Which as i said is stupid because the games dont count until a little over 3 weeks from now anyways.

Yes let the taking begin again. I high draft pick is better then watching these bums play and coach. Maybe after all the tanking last year the Bucks will get busted this year.

I agree. Maybe try to catch team off guard thinking our main guys won't be playing and then all of a sudden we play them the last few weeks to make a run to the playoffs.

J.A. Andane said on fastbreak that Yi's wrist has been bothering him for the last month. I'm surprised we haven't heard anything about this earlier.

Have you seen Jenna Jameson lately? I mean I could watch videos of her in her prime and still be completely turned off based on what she looks like today.

Come one... she hasn't fallen off that much. Jenna is the Jordan of her field. She had her prime, sat out for a while. When she came back she was still better than half her fellow starlets.

They haven't made a huge deal out of it but he's been wearing a brace on his wrist for a little while. I think a two or three weeks off would do him a world of good in so far as recharging his batteries, though hopefully this isn't anything serious.

Actually they mentioned that Yi has been struggling with a wrist issue a little while ago, but because he played through it most of us probably just forgot about it (I know I did).

And perhaps this is Yi and the Bucks way of getting him the rest he needs (if it isn't serious) and doing some work on his body and game while he "rehabs" his injury.

Yi's play has completely collapsed, so him getting some rest before having to play for China is fine by me even if he didn't have to heal as well.

Our team plays better without Mo, so I don't consider him quitting on the team to be tanking either. I think this is even more likely given Bogut's recent comments.

I'm not that mad about Yi sitting. He should get a little rest, the man has been playing a lot this last year.

Mo I'm a little pissed about. Why can't that dude ever stay healthy? Shutting it down? Already? Adds a double whammy for me since he's on my fantasy team.
