Kenny George

Post#1 » by pr0wler » Fri Feb 29, 2008 11:25 am

This guy is a BEAST. 7'8'' 365 pounds, huge wingspan. Surprisingly, he moves fairly well and can dunk without leaving his feet. Averages around 5 blocks a game in only 20 minutes a night.

Also recorded a triple double this season - 20 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 blocks. Flat out amazing.

NBA potential? Worth a 2nd round pick, stash him in the NBDL for a couple years to improve some more and could be valuable for 15-20 minutes a night at a professional level.

He has almost no chance in the NBA, I'm 95% sure of it. He is too slow to play an NBA paced game(He wouldn't make it back in time), he will have the big man problem, which is being injured every year due to being so huge that your knees, legs, ankles, feet could give out ala Yao, Bradley, Bol, Muresan.

His height is amazing, but that's about all that's good about him.

agreed.

George has almost no chance at being an NBA player. He's just too big, guys will just blow by him, Shaq and Big Z would even make him look like a pylon. Sure he can block shots in college but in the NBA he will be dealing with alot quicker plays and defensive 3 in the key.

I guarantee he gets picked in the 2nd round. If Slavko Varnes can do it, anyone can.

This guy does not start for his college team. So he probally wont become much of a NBA player. He may get drafted but never see the court.

he has two more years (he aint coming out early) to improve foot speed and if he can, a second round pick is probably worth it

if a guy can't A. Start or play even 20 minutes in college they will have a slim chance.

It is interesting how many Bigs have had major injuries.

Wonder why ROy Hibbert has not had this problem? He is literally the same hgt/wgt as Z.

I heard him interviewed on the radio last night - He's got that same really deep baritone voice - perfect for the WWE. :) Apparently, he's shown a lot of improvement on the court. Just gotta wonder if joints that big can stand the constant pounding of playing hoops.

Draft him in the second as an end of game specialist. At the end of close games, put him in, send him under the basket, inbound him the ball up high, and let him lay it in. The other teams only option would be to Hack-A-George, which is why I'd have him practice his free throw shooting 4 hours a day. He couldn't handle the rigors of an up-and-down NBA game, but in specific set plays he could be as close to unguardable as anything currently in the league.

Would that make him Dre da' Giant?

By the way, Andre was only around 6'11", maybe 7' at his peak. 7'7" Kenny George would tower over him.

Andre wasn't as tall as George, but I walked by him in an airport once :o , and I'd be very surprised if he was under 7'. I'd guess 7'2 or 3. He was the largest human being I've ever seen.

He's too slow; he reminds me a lot of Sun Ming-Ming.

I don't care if y'all hate on him...I love watching highlights of him. It's just insane to see people and basketballs disappear as they enter his orbit.

And the fact that he really enjoys the game of basketball says something to me.
