It was actually a book and then a movie about George Plimpton (then a Sports Illustrated writer) going to training camp with the Detroit Lions.

He actually took a snap or two in an exhibition game.

Alan Alda played Plimpton.

Great movie.

Actually, Craig, it was paper LION. And yes, that was a good story.

Boston and Detroit are dominant teams. Cleveland as the Eastern Conference champs have to mentioned thats understandable. Gato is right. Don't be expected to be taken seriously until you compete in the second round.

Despite having a better record than the cavs, and being the three seed, all the writers are positive that the only teams in the east worth mentioning are Detroit, Boston, Cleveland and Toronto. One writer says the Magic would be good if we didn't have a questionable PG situation. Another writer called us "paper tigers", all the while completely dismissing what we have accomplished as a team. It kinda pisses me off, but thats fine, let them sleep on us. When we go in and beat one of those "big three", we'll see whose laughing last.

I get the paper tiger comment. Stan is showing me something though and he may turn these paper tigers into cardboard Lions. I do understand the comment though ..

Dwight is a monster and that cannot be denied, but how tough are we and how will we hold up when it comes playoffs against tough hard nosed defensive teams. Stan is demanding defense out of these guys and he is pushing Dwight to the next level. Defensively we could be hurt and we could be beat up by strong physical teams - all of our players except Dwight and Dwight needs to show a lot more attitude in the playoffs.

How tough can you make Cook, Evans, Lewis and Hedo on the defensive end before the playoffs. And, can you get Jameer to step it up on both ends of the floor - he is capable, but can you get him to step up. Dooling is also tough.

Bogans - ok, but does he really scare anyone defensively? Is he really that tough - I don't think so - no knocks on Keith - I think he is playing up to his potential, but who fears the Magic - who thnks the Magic are a tough hard nosed physical team - I don't. I wish I did, but they can appear to be paper tigers, but they also may be a little tougher than people realize - SVG is working on these guys. I think they could easily be cardboard Lions rather than paper tigers. Are they a tough physical team like Detroit? Not yet. Dwight has responded to Stan though, but we need more.
