He would be a nice addition to our team, but I think the Raps will prefer to keep Calderon than Ford.

Haha, yeah ok, it might be a bit of a stretch, but he's closer to Tmac then Kapono. Nice list btw hector.

If your going to use Rashard in the manner he is being used then he has more in common with Kapono. Kapono is a weak side 3 point shooter that watches the action and waits for the ball. Rashard is a weak side shooter that watches the action and waits for the ball. Tracy McGrady has the ball and is making the plays. Like I said before Hedo and Tmac have way more skills in common than Rashard and Tmac.

There was a Raptors fan who called in to Full Court Press on NBA Radio today and basically said that Calderon is their starter now and Ford has been benched. Keep in mind, this was a fan, not a team official or even an NBA "expert.'' He said they will pay any amount of money to keep Calderon and are likely to move Ford in the offseason. In fact, he said that the Raptors lost to the Magic because Ford got selfish and insisted on taking the shot himself for nine possessions in a row at the start of the fourth quarter because he has his nose out of joint over the whole Calderon thing. I can't say I remember this one way or the other.

That wasn't all the guy had to say, by the way. He said that was the only reason that the Raptors lost to the Magic -- even without Bosh. And that the Raptors want the Magic in the playoffs because they know they can beat them, even if the Magic have home-court advantage. It was only one fan, but I assume there are more of them who believe this. Quite a bit of talking from the Raptors fan there.

Why do you have to put in disclaimers all the time. All I meant by the comparison is that he is the caliber of player as Tmac vs Kapono, and Lewis also reminds me a lot of Tmac when he shoots the ball and drives the lane. Like I said, even the fact that they both rely on their jumper too much as well is ironic. Not how their used in which offense, but their physical abilities. Never mind, it doesn't matter, another tangent gone awry. We should probably quit hijacking the thread anyway.

Regardless of whatever conversations have been made in the past it clearly is not the one raised in this thread since he specifically has been talking about the amount paid and other players more deserving NOT doing nothing. So its off base and that reality still stands.

Incidentally I'll worry about my tone with you to the degree that you worry about yours with me.

Yeah - I never could understand why the Magic believe a team should have everyone chucking the ball. We brought Cook in for the same reason. I would have thought we would pass on Kapono because we had JJ and at the time everyone was pretty upbeat about his potential with Stan running the ship but Shard is showing mostly the outside shot. For 118 million I'll say it again. I'd rather have Kapono and Wallace if for no other reason tham they together provide everything and more shard does and are still movable pieces. I'd be open to a few other players available last summer than Kapono if we were committed to giving JJ a shot.

Its not just with me. Your ego is evidenced all over this board. Seriously, why don't you take it down a notch.

I'm not an Otis fan on a board that likes to defend him. Of course I'm going to have run ins. Kind of similiar to what you guys do with Arroyo fans - try and shut them up or run them off like you own the joint. Granted I can't be ran off by a few comments or "suggestions" and I have no problem rebutting which is what you "love" about me.

I don't see any point that has to do with the thread topic in your response so - Peace out.

Very likely since TJ is not 100%, doesn't fit so well in the system and is generally playing worse than Calderon (read: not as good as). Ford would still be an improvement over Nelson but he's even shorter, rarely plays defense and his shooting is iffy at best. But he can find teammates anywhere and is used to playing with a good bigman in Bosh.
