Its easy. I'm not even a Kobe homer. But he's got the sweetest fadeaway arguably that I've ever seen in the history of basketball. He has incredible lateral movement and slashing speed for someone of his size. He's like a 6'6" Allen Iverson. He can take it to the rack on any defender, and if you don't have a center who can cut him off(he'll probably get posterized anyway), you're screwed. When you have that deep of an offensive game, combined with the fact that you're a lockdown defender, you deserve to be known as the best player in the NBA.

OK, you described why Kobe is good. You didn't compare his effect on the game to anyone else.

Does that make him better than Duncan? Anchor of the best defensive team of the past decade, most polished post player in the league? Does it make him better than Bron, the unstoppable force with point guard skills? Does it make him better than KG, elite rebounder, most versatile defender in the league and best passing big man since Wilt?

No. You described why Kobe is good which no one is going to debate. He just may not be as good as some other guys.

Duncan is a top 10 greatest player of all time. Historically I'd put him over Kobe. But on this day, I Kobe's just flat out a better scorer than any player in the NBA. LeBron is very good too but he settles for jump shots, even when he's being guarded by a guy who can't carry his jock strap. He doesn't have that kind of killer mentality that Kobe has.

If I'm not mistaken, and I'm not, Lebron takes it to the hole a lot more often than Kobe.
