From what I've seen, DeJuan Blair is a solid small low post player. I think he'll be a fine pro.

Actually all three are on draftnet's mock, and only Hairston is on DX's.

My mistake, thanks for pointing that out.....in this case, I am glad that I am wrong

Nick Calathes from Florida is the first guy that came to mind. This guy is amazing and he's only a freshman.
PPG 15.4 | APG 6.1 | RPG 5.1

Jason Richards from Davidson is another guy that more people should be talking about. He's a solid PG who does a little bit of everything on the floor and is putting up pretty decent numbers and is playing on a good Davidson team.
PPG 13.0 | APG 8.0 | RPG 3.1

Dejuan Blair is another good one. Kinda reminds me of Maxiell a little bit.

It's DJ. Not Augustin; but White. He's at least gotta be in the discussion. Everyone thinks Eric Gordon when Indy is mentioned, but White is the heart of that team and a great college big man. He may be just a bit short for the scouts, but he's got the Elton Brand body and reach thing going for him. And after watching him batter the more heralded 7 foot Kostas Koufas the other day (yeah, Koufas made some jump shots, but he did nothing inside), I see White has underrated NBA potential. Craig Smith made it, and White is basically a more talented version of Smith, imo.

I doubt he's got much draft potential, but I guy I like every time I see him- but never hear anything about- is Jon Brockman from Washington.

I don't know if "terrible" is the right description, but UW is only the 8th or 9th best team in the Pac 10. I was just throwing his name out there as someone who I would like to see get a little more attention.

I agree with a lot of the other names in this thread, btw. This has been a really entertaining college basketball season so far.

John Brockman's the kind of player a coach loves to have, but he's not nearly big enough (6-7) to play his game in the NBA. He can probably have a monster career in Europe, though. Luke Harangody is a similar player, but I like Brockman more.

This is real tough to pick a player who's liable to fit, but I'll go with Darren Collison because he's having a real rough season yet is a lottery pick IMO. As far as guys who are projected for the second round, I love Bo McCalebb's potential. I think if some team is willing to spend the team to work with him he can be a solid NBA backup.

Another player who should be mentioned here is Eric Maynor of VCU. He was outstanding in last year's NCAA tournament, and still nobody talks about him. He's an outstanding all-around PG with no serious weaknesses in his game. And he's a clutch player who can take control in crunch time.

If he goes pro this year, he probably won't be a 1st round pick, but he should be. I see his career going very similar to Mo Williams', and he has a more developed game at the same stage.

Could Brockman play the Reggie Evans roll? He is a physical player and works his arse off. This is a league that still pays Scal/Madsen and other dorks.

these guys can play

Post#35 » by sox839 » Sun Mar 2, 2008 1:47 am

Guys like brockman and harangody can play in the nba. Basketball players have become smaller since the 80's. I look at baby davis and leon powe both undersized both are solid. Harangody and Brockman will be contributors in the nba. Brockman is a tenacious rebounder and harangody is yourbig east player of the year. Guys that will bang insidehave a good chance of sticking beause lots of guys don'tdo that.

I gotta change my vote again - after seeing this guy rated as a 2nd round pick in the 2009 draft by nbadraft.net. Chris Douglas-Roberts is way too good to last that long. They say he's not strong enough to play guard in the NBA. I think that's crazy, and he'll even be able to play the 3. Dude is a legitimately great scorer and a really tough matchup for any team. And he's a winner. I think he's every bit the prospect and more that Richard Hamilton was out of UConn. Like Rip at that time, his athleticism and strength are underrated.

Darren Collison. 14 ppg on 89% FTs, 48% FGs and 46% 3pt FGs. Not to mention his always stellar defense both on the ball and off the ball.

Chris Douglas-Roberts 6-7 SG

17.6 ppg
4.4 rpg
1.6 apg
1.4 spg
.548% fg%
.452% 3ptfg%

The most dominant scorer on a fairly dominate team (Memphis 28-1, only loss to #2 Tennessee) and most pre-draft reports have him going undrafted.

I'd hope it wouldn't be my team drafting Roberts-I just don't see the potential, there. He's a 4 year guy with a decent amount of talent on a great team-he should be looking good right now.

I think I will second the DJ White nomination from earlier in this thread. He's going to be a guy who lasts until the 2nd round and then contributes his first year...
