How surprised are you that it looks like we'll make the playoffs?

How about that we're looking like we're going to win the division?

How about that virtually every other team you predicted to do better than us - esp Atlanta, Wash and Charl - are not?

:D......

Atleast our team is in the playoffs. I'll admit I am wrong.... Magic is still my team.

But I still had acouple of my predictions being right though. Rashard Lewis isn't the 25 point scorer yall thought the was gonna be. He hasn't even scored 30 points yet.

And Our team plays piss poor defense.

And I what I didn't see what Turkoglu exploding to be our 2nd best player.

Statistically, we play average defense (16th or 17th in the league).

Battie should wait until next season and continue rehab. I'd rather have a fully healthy Battie next season than interrupt his rehab and potentially watch him aggravate his shoulder.

Battie in his current form wouldn't be the difference between us and a championship this season anyway.

I wouldn't mind Battie back at all, even in a starting position (assuming he's healthy). I'm not advocationg we do this but I don't think it would hurt us at all. Everybody keeps talking about changing positions, but Rashard and Hedo are already playing SF and SG no matter what you want to call it. Rashard is spotting up in the corner on just about every possession and Hedo is already the secondary ball handler. Basically we're playing small ball around Dwight without a PF. Putting Battie in wouldn't really change anything except our interior defense.

If Battie had never been injured, Turkoglu probably would not have had a breakout season. StM would have likely used a Lewis(SF)-Battie(PF)-Howard(C) starting front court.

But now come playoff time, the Magic will need more bodies. There will be traditional matchups where the Magic must bang away at the PF slot.

Also, I do not see a major medical problem with Battie playing, even if he where to get re-injured. Shoulder issues heal. His problems are unlikely to reoccur in a way that jeopardizes his career.

Battie will probably play if medically cleared. There's no major down side for GM Smith and Coach The-Man.

I just remember when Darrell Armstrong separated his shoulder and tore ligaments. He didn't play for about a year. They wouldn't even let him in the arena for a while because they said if he jostled it or got hit by someone flying in off the court and reinjured it that they might not be able to repair it again. Even as long as he took, he still has problems with that shoulder, and from the reports I've read since he left Orlando, he keeps putting off having more surgery on it as if he thinks it will keep him out for so long that it will end his career.

Thats a far more serious of an injury than what Battie has hoops. Battie just has a torn muscle, not sure as to what degree or percentage, but its easier to surgically repair. A separated shoulder with torn ligaments is a major instability to the joint itself. And because its more severe, the rehab is much longer, and the risk or likelihood of re-injury goes up too.

Even if battie could come back for the playoffs he shouldn't unless he comes back early enough to get into playing shape and that s very unlikely. Putting the guy out there without the proper conditioning could result in another injury.

way way way different injury love, but i agree with the overall point.

He wont play unless magic doctors inspect him and reinspect him and EVEN THEN he would have been practicing for a WHILE just to see how his shoulder reacts the day AFTER its put under strain.

Hell be tested and checked and rehabed out the wazoo before he be back.
