at best I think he is a late 2nd pick and most likely a undrafted but I think he will get to play on a NBA SL im sure of it. Im been pretty unimpressed with him in the games ive been able to see. He is amazingly limited on offense and I think people are taking his "BB IQ" a little far. He is better the average but he is hardly a player you'd label a great basketball mind. If he wants to hang on in the NBA I think he really needs to work himself into a nitch, right now he is a do everything player but he doesn't really do anything well enough to make that attractive for an NBA team. If you can keep your defender honest when you are on offense to damn well better do something else great and he doesn't.

whoever gets him will become a better team, pat jr's a damn good player. i always had a soft spot for him, but after watching him take over the game on saturday without doing much scoring(making great passes, setting screen's , diving for loose balls etc) i saw what type of player he can become.
the brothers gruff...who can phuk with the 3 of us?

He's not an NBA prospect by any means and the only reason he may be considered an NBA prospect is because of his father's NBA success. I like Ewing Jr. at the college level but find it hard to picture him succeeding (or even getting much of a chance) at the NBA level.

I don't think that's a fair comment. He's a legitimately very talented athlete that has some skills - albeit very raw on the offensive end. His father's name may get him more exposure for the average fan, but NBA GMs will give him a look based on his talent and potential.

He looked great on the defensive end against Louisville. THe defense in the Big East is so tough, and the refs let the players get away with so much, that it's really tough to judge how good a player will be at the next level.

Its pretty ridiculous to consider PE jr. a NBA level prospect. Just look at NBAdraft.net's mock draft. The last two players to be taken in the second round are Shan Foster and Sean singletary. Both are 20 ppg players and are very talented college players. The types of role players that get selected in the second round are players like Joey Dorsey, Mbah a Moute, or Darnell Jackson. Also maybe a freshman could get away with being a 20 mpg player putting up 6 ppg, but PE jr will be a 24 year old rookie. It is true that this thread would not exist if it wasnt for his famous father.

How does Shan Foster fall into one of the last two players in the draft? He is one of the premiere shooters in the Collegiate level.

The exact player doesnt matter. The point is that only premier college players make it into the NBA. Draftexpress has Demarcus Nelson and Richard Roby available in the late second round. Would anyone really choose PE jr over either of them. But I agree tha Shan Foster should be gone by the early second round.

I think his energy would be nice for Indiana. The Pacers could use someone who's willing to cut to the paint. I mean, we couldn't do much worse, really.

I mean, DX.com's 2008 Mock Draft has the Pacers drafting Kentrell Gransberry in the second round, who's "best attribute as far as the NBA is concerned has to be his rebounding ability."

Unfortunately, I'd rather have someone with outstanding leaping ability, averaging six points and two rebounds per game on our team, rather than someone who's getting 16 and 11, respectively.

Like Gerald Green, I think he needs to be on a crappy team where he can try to become an essential player, and get more minutes, rather than, say, the Spurs or Celtics, where he'll get less minutes than Pat Burke.
