y'all are dumb ****.

Miami/Riley are trotting out a banged-up Wade out there for no reason, we know ricky davis and mark blount don't give a **** about anything besides their paychecks. Wade's shoulder is messed up, of course that affects his game. A healthy, motivated Pierce took his team to 30+ win seasons. Wade ain't healthy, he ain't close to 100%, and I don't see how he can be that motivated considering Riley has given up on this team. Remember- Riley doesn't have to worry about his job, whereas those Boston coaches that headed up those 30-win Boston teams did.

Wade is not better than LeBron, only morons and the most extreme homers would say that, but to see some of y'all goin on about him not being that good are just foolish. I seriously don't know what is wrong with you.

The Heat are tanking this year, it's been obvious since Wade sat out in favor of Luke Jackson in the 4th quarter of a game earlier in the season.

1.) D-Wade - I doubt he's fully healthy. But who knows.

2.) Mark Blount. I watched one or two Heat/Kings games a week or two after placing small bets. I figured one thing in MIA's favor was SAC didn't have any big men to eploit MIA's lack of big men that play defense. Watching the game, it was clear that Mark Blount made the team worse just by being on the floor, even when he wasn't giving up easy baskets.

3.) Tanking? Their last game against SAC-town. A game they should have won from the get-go. Marion cancels out Artest, Wade is much better than Kev Martin at full strength, J-Will> Udrih, RickyD cancels out John Salmons, and SAC lacks front court depth. Marion came out before the game to challenge his teamates, and MIA was up by 20 at halftime. Somehow SAC was still able to cover the spread a 7 point favorites.

Wrong.

It's not Wade.

1) Marion is overrated - not Wade. I been watching some Miami games and Wade is still very good in general. He isn't a real leader type though - not even compared to PP.

2) Jason Williams - this guy STINKS. He is a defensive turnstyle of the highest order. When you -33 on the game and Marcus Banks is +2 your in trouble.

3) Mark Blount - I think perhaps he was over vilified here - but nonetheless he isn't very good. Though remember how we got him he wasn't exactly considered top flight talent..

I think that box score sums up the state of the Heat.

As ESPN stated he is the new Penny Hardaway. Commercials, injuries and all. Only difference is he and Shaq won their finals appearance.

See, I don't know what's with this ****. Are y'all jealous? Or upset that the hand-check era ended? I know DWade got all the calls and then some, but that is the way of the NBA, all the stars (except Kobe to a degree) get calls on a nightly basis.

Wade is a great **** player. Paul Pierce by all means may be better, I don't know why you guys have to be so defensive about that all the time, but Wade is still a great player.

And to that guy who said "the only difference is he and Shaq won their finals appearance."- Well that's a pretty big difference isn't it? Winning with a Shaquille O'Neal that, while he still commanded double-teams and opened things up, was a shadow of his former self, especially the one that **** Penny Hardaway played with.

I agree with Dwayne Wade being overrated. His game mimics Steve Francis with their crossover and athletic ability. They had their moment when Shaq was there and still in his prime. I doubt things can change unless they completely rebuild. If I was the Heat, I'll trade Wade while his stock is still high. Theres no point of trying and rebuild around a injury prone star.

For starters no one here is jealous of Wade.

Wade got a championship early in his career, yes big difference. But now we will watch as his fragile body battles injuries and people who think he is the #1 guy from that draft will be proved to be insane. He very well may fall into obscurity. He very well may be Penny. Or how about Grant Hill?

And yes Marion is overrated too, solid all around player not meant to be a go to guy though.

Obviously the attitudes of Davis, Blount and Banks plays a role in what Miami brings.

Wade is not the only reason they aren't any good but he is perhaps the biggest, he is not who we thought he was. If they land Beasley and Wade can play 70+ games a year then they may be similar to Washington of the past few years - Big stars, battle injuries, consistent playoff team, unlikely to ever go anywhere in the playoffs.

Marion's only been on that team for a few games....they were awful before he arrived...how can it be Marion's fault. Granted, I completely agree that Marion's overrated as well...

That's all very fair, and I actually agree with your predictions for both Wade and Miami if they get Beasley. You can't convince me that he's not better than Penny, but I know that he's not the number 1 player of that draft. I just don't like it when people say that he's not all that good. He's a great player, not the best, but great.

Dwayne Wade is a franchise player...he may be overrated, but i'd also take him in a SECOND on my team and very much hope he's the player that Boston targets when he becomes a FA...Wade has the ability to play both back-court positions and can be a great two-way player when he's not trying to carry the entire offensive load for his team...

The Heat suck because Wade and Haslem were the only two winners on that team...the team was built to fail and NO ONE, not Kobe, LeBron, KG, or anyone else would have changed that...

...as soon as that was obvious the team started playing for the lottery, so judging Wade off of this team's record is patently unfair...

...I hate the Miami Heat as much as anyone, perhaps my least favorite team...but Dwayne Wade is a stud...yes, the refs jobbed the Mavs in the finals...but the Mavs also mailed it in by bitching and whining instead of playing the game..

Wade or any player shouldn't go to the line 25 times a game, but he is an incredible player without that...i'd take him on my team anytime...

Agree with Bill, Wade's the real deal. Way better than Steve Francis ever dreamed of being. Way better. Maybe not a franchise, but aside from James, (including Kobe), no one really is.

Put some legit players around him and he'd stop playing psycho and be injured less.

I just don't know how you could watch what Paul Pierce has gone through in Boston over the last 3 or 4 years and then turnaround and say Wade is overrated. Then again you were probably the same guys who said we could never win with Paul Pierce.

That is a bad ball club and it is all on Riley. Now as horrible of a job he has done as a coach he has done the exact reverse as a GM. He traded a contract no one thought he could deal and not only did he get and expiring deal he got a pretty good player as well, an asset to resign or use in a S&T deal. Somehow that slick haired SOB turned this season into 35 mil + in cap space if Marion opts out as well as a top 5 pick.

I think the biggest problem with the Heat is lack of motivated Shaq. During their championship run, Shaq was a man on a mission. And his presence made everyone's job easier. D-Wade was getting open lane to the basket all game, people were getting open 3s left and right, etc. At the same time, all the veterans they brought in at the time were hungry for that championship ring.

Now they are suffering from a championship hangover. Shaq's gone and so have the hunger and all they got left are a bunch of old legs with no motivation and Wade to carry all the load with not much help. Wade is a great player, no doubt, but he's not someone that can carry a team to a championship or anything close to that by himself. He was the main beneficiary of Shaq's presence inside and he enjoyed what Kobe did during the championship years.

Once they get better supporting cast around Wade, the Heat can be good again because Wade is that good, but I don't think there really is a quick fix to this.

Better players means someone is less likely to get injured?

He's out for the year now. I personally think he can play but this is just some form of tanking by Riley, I think Riley will only be back next year if he feels they hit a home run with the draft.

on a side note: If Miami doesn't have the ping pong balls bounce their way, there may actually be some type of conspiracy where teams who "tank" don't win the lottery. Granted the Celtics were happy getting the 5th pick in the long run.

well, PP sat out the end of last year, likely for a couple of reasons.......maybe Wade needs to be the star attraction to be a great player as he's not an assist leader. He reminds me of the kind of player that Ray was for Seattle, only he creates his points differently.

Wade is just outside the top 10 in assists..
