Kidd is close with 10/10/8

it did wonders for the Nets.

A triple double would be instrumental if the PTS bit is efficient.... and all done in the last 2 minutes of the game :-)

I'll take the triple double, because it'll always be remembered, and theres a higher chance that your play is having a greatly positive effect. High rebound and assist numbers don't lie like ppg can.

Rebounds lies. You can get 2 or 3 offensive rebounds in one possession if you are just terrible around the basket and keep getting rebounds. You can get rebounds from missed free throws. Assists are harder to get, but the amount of people who can average 10 assist per game is MUCH higher then people who can average 30+. 10 points per game is a joke for an NBA star, they can do that from garbage points. We will never see anyone average 45 ppg again. When you are scoring at that rate, teams focus in on you. Opposing teams don't try to stop a guy from a triple double. Opposing teams do try to prevent a guy from dropping 45+.

I would take someone who averages 45 points a game on ONE (1%) shooting over a 10pt, 10rb, 10ast guy.

You'd make a brilliant GM.

This guy would literally miss thousands of shots per game.

30/10/10 would be more impressive than something like 45/6/3 imo.

The triple double, since you can't rely on yourself completely to make it happen; HOWEVER I think 45 a night is harder to achieve.

10/10/10, or 45/0/0??? 45 easy, if both are shooting the same efficiency.

How would a player be able to realistically put that many points and assists... I mean, we are talking only about LeBron James cause he is the PG for his team, but any other big time is not running point.

Although, I think a Duncan or Kirilenko style triple double... Points/Rebounds/Blocks can earn you championships.

lol, whats up with the 45/10/10 being serious ball hogging? LeBron has come very close to getting that quite a few times (has he done it yet?) and RealGM has a love affair with him. If its anyone else though it's ball hogging? I don't think 45/10/10 is ball hogging if your helping your team win.

so is MJ a ball hog? you know, 6 time finals MVP, all time scoring average leader, greatest player of all time. So if he is a ball hog, and it helps your team win, is it a bad thing?

If Jason Kidd averaged 2.2 more rpg, he would average a triple double. If you think Jason Kidd with better rebounding ability is better than a scorer who averages 45 ppg, you are crazy.

It would nice to see somebody put up 45 a nite, but I rather see something like this 25/10/12

But if the TD is 10-10-10 on horrible efficiency, I'd take 45 ppg.

Playing 1 on 5 and going 82-0 and 16-0 in the playoffs would be more impressive than any other stat. Unless you put up 10 assists playing 1 on 5...

45ppg over 10/10/10 easily.

Jason Kidd averaging about 2 more assists isn't scary. Someone scoring 45 on you a game is a threat. It means you can't stop him. And if that 45ppg player has a good supporting cast that would be even scarier.
