Horrible 4th. Finley MIA, again. Didn't go to Duncan enough. Crappy loss.

Well the Suns got the deserved W... they got the rebounds in the last 5 mins. If they didn't have Shaq they would not have gotten the rebounds that they would always give up to us and other teams. I am above bitching about some of the calls. They wanted the W more and they got it.

Definitely a great win by Phoenix

However, I don't know if they can play like this, on a consistent basis, into the playoffs. Especially Shaq individually. Because this type of play (as a team and Shaq himself) is what it is going to take, in order for them to play better than they have recently.

To be more direct - I don't buy that they can do so. It'd be amazing if so, though.

I can't get all up about the refs, calls, either... but I will admit I am surprised neither Shaq/Amare fouled out. Oh well.

Yeah I don't think Manu being a ball hog and taking low percentage shots and 5 turnovers is going to help.

I was rooting for you guys, but it was clear Manu killed you today. 11 team assists aren't going to win many games.

Not sure whats up with Finley these last 2 or 3 games, but he best get back going decent again. I expect him to be okay, ultimately, but overall a bad last 3 games for him.

i dont see that its unreasonable to expect we can play like this in the playoffs

if we can do it in shaqs 9th game with us, why cant we do it in his 30th?

suns won with defense, instead of trying to outscore you guys which hasnt worked well enough in the past, we closed the game out 14-2, i dont expect you spurs fans to be overly impressed, but as a suns fan, thats something we have NEVER done before getting shaq, so it gives me great hope that we can become more like you guys in that we can be versatile, fast or slow, fastbreak or halfcourt type of team

there is alot of negatives for the suns tonight that we can improve on too (as im sure there is for you) just dont go thinking this is a one off effort, im expecting more of it

bad luck to you guys, youre stomping it in at the moment anyways, you played well just missed some shots that you make 90% of the time, its certainly not something im expecting you to do often

i really hope we meet in the playoffs, as a suns fan (if we were to go to the finals) i would love to have series vs mavs lakers and spurs - even as an NBA fan, i think we all just want to watch these 2 go at it for 7 games

good luck the rest of the way fellas

Well you have to take the good with the bad with Manu. There are times that he is amazing and you want him to have the ball every time down the court the other times I would be happy with him being a set shooter.

Yeah I know, just talking about today. I really wanted the Spurs to win today. He had 5 out of the 9 turnovers.

I didn't say the playoffs. I said into the playoffs. Meaning the rest of the season. You have to finish the season playing at this level on a regular basis, before you can think about playoff play.

I don't know. We have to see.

Oh yeah, but it's still has to be displayed, and the experiment is still in progress. So far, it's had mixed results, and more iffy than good. So now, there has to be a drastic turnaround of the level of play, on both ends of the court, for this type of play against Boston, SA.

Maybe so!

In case no one has noticed, Shaq has been improving with each game... working himself into better BB condition. Come playoffs he will be much improved then he is now. Will it make any difference? Unlike with Pops, Suns coach is clueless when it comes to game match-ups.

Sigh.

But he hasn't played like this over a course of a game yet, until today. Can he do this over the course of the rest of the season? Because this kind of play today is what is going to be needed for that to happen.

It's going to take a serious turn-around to make this trade be consistent in effectiveness. Above .500 basketball.

Ultimately though, I still don't see the Suns having enough to win the west. Likely to start on the road in the playoffs, and I don't buy the overall team package.

Hill makes a big shot there in the fourth...
Nice to see the fire from Phoenix and they got a deserved win!

The Spurs got outmuscled in the post in the last five minutes of the game. PHX also drew fouls on the Spurs and hit their shots when it counted. One thing that bugs me though. When both Shaq and Amare were on the floor with 5 fouls. Why didn't the Spurs tok the game to them to get them both out of the game?

Well that was an incredibly disappointing loss, it completely ruined my day. On the plus side I don't think we're capable of pulling off a choke job like that ever again, stuff like that happens I guess.

I hope Barry is healthy when he returns because we'll need someone to eat into Fin's minutes.

I much prefered Stoudamire when he wasn't chucking like this, the dude is a smart and capable distributor. Why not use his strengths?

I didn't understand that either. As soon as they got their 5th fouls, I would have had Duncan post them up everytime down the floor until they fouled out. Instead, I don't think he posted up once and basically every shot the Spurs took was an outside jumper. WTF???
