Rooting for Mason to take the tourney due to my immense hatred for VCU. Also, I really like Folarin Campbell and Will Thomas.

W&M. OMG. Good for them but bad for the CAA. Looks like VCU may not get an at-large.

I think it's great for the CAA. They're gonna get 2 teams in, VCU and Mason most likely.

Still can't believe VCU lost, but I gotta give credit to W&M for beating us. Only thing left to do is hope for an at-large bid.

Nope, VCU is NIT bound. It really would have been nice for the conference to get two bids again though.

I was down there Friday and Saturday. VCU did not look good in the win against Towson. They are probably out for a couple of reasons. Their best win against Maryland, now does not seem as strong. They also beat Akron in the BracketBuster, who lost to Kent State yesterday in the MAC.

Maybe Tom O'Connor's (GMU's AD) voice on the selection committee will help. It would be a shame not to have VCU in, because they are a NCAA-caliber squad and could upset somebody if they get the right matchup. Have to root for W&M tonight.

Bump. VCU opens their season tomorrow by hosting the Citadel. I'm definitely gonna go to that one. I know some of the other teams in the conference have already started, so how are your teams doing?

Good call, I was just thinking of bumping this thread. I managed to find a stream of Old Dominion's first game at UNC-Charlotte last night. We squeaked out a one point victory thanks to a Jonathan Adams three pointer with 5.5 seconds left.

I also heard that Northeastern (who were picked to finish 2nd in the preseason poll) beat Providence. George Mason pulled out an OT victory at Vermont thanks to some Darryl Monroe free throws with less than a second left.

Just wanted to add that VCU beat the Citadel 82-59, which is pretty good considering I felt that we didn't play that well for a good part of the game.
