Obviously this is a HUGE test for the Sixers and while I think they'll keep the game close, I do think the Celtics will take control down the stretch hence...

My Prediction: Celtics by 5+

Sixers by 2? My heart is with you on this one but my brain won't allow me to make that kind of prediction. I hope I'm all kinds of wrong here.

Also... this is the week where we find out a lot about our team.

Monday: Vs. Boston
Wednesday: @ Detroit
Friday: @ Chicago
Saturday: Vs. San Antonio

If we can come away with a 2-2 record from this, I will be very impressed (and happy).

TGP-i we beat the celts, is it time to put toronto on your radar for the game threads-they are 8-7 over their last 15, we are gaining on them. i hate to look past wiz, but I don't think Arenas returning = that many more wins that we have to look in our rear view, I looked at the schedule and we can win 44 games this year.

Done and done. The Raptors have officially entered the conversation. Am I wrong for thinking we're better off staying in 6th than taking over 5th? 5th gets you a first round matchup against LeBron and his new supporting cast. 6th takes us to Orlando where I think we'd have a better chance.

really you think so? I agree that Lebron is just sick..but we have had real trouble with superman....and his 3 point shooter..however that was then this is now...

I wish we would win this one but I just dont think we will. If we go 2-2 over the next 4 games i would be very happy.

You are on a roll right now, blowing teams out by 20+ points in your last 3 games, and even a close win against Phoenix. But we are on a roll, as well, and Cassell might make his debut tonight. Should be an interesting game.

I am tempted to say "Celtics by 5", but my Sixers Pride won't let me.

That picture of him in your avatar isn't game action or is it the press conference?

Sixers by 10

Only because it's a small-time game for a bir time team in the Celtics, and we need it bad

If the Sixers win tonight, everyone will know if they are for real but I'm really worried that they will come crashing back to earth after this game.

I'd agree except that they're winning with hustle and solid shot selection. They're not tricking anybody or getting lucky too much. I think they're a slow and steady kind of squad...not in style of course...but in their path to success

Did Thad play much in the previous meetings with Boston?

In the first game (Dec 5th), Thad was a DNP-CD. In the second game (Jan. 18th)... Thad came off of the bench and played 20 minutes. He 2-4 from the field for 7 points and had 3 rebounds.

It'll be interesting to see if Thad gets the start in this since Boston does have a big frontcourt. I think Mo should stick with the unit that has been winning these games and see if we can get out and run.

I agree. Letting them set the tone before the game even starts does 2 things...takes us out of our rhythm and starts us off on the foot of chasing them instead of making them chase us. They're far better than us. We shoudl impose our will as much as possible and not give them even MORE of an advantage.
