Out of Sync
In the first 10 games of the Gasol trade, the Lakers were completely in sync trying to get Gasol in the flow of their offense. This led to more passing, distribution and looking to play more cohesively for everyone.
Recently I see the Lakers winning most, but really not playing the way they did when they tried to put more effort into getting Gasol involved, leading to others getting everyone else involved. We just lost to Sac..and we should have lost to Sac the last time...we just end up playing more isolated. It seems the initial excitment of a new relaitonship has faded....Lakers need to play more like they are welcoming their newest All-star..this leads to welcoming more rhtyhm, better offense, and more assists.
We need to get back in time for the Playoffs...we been sloppy recently.

Personally, I don't see us slowing down a bit as such a bad thing. There is still one month worth of regular season left before the playoffs even starts and going full speed for about three months will certainly drain our team of their energy come the playoffs. A good team always know how to pace itself and peak at the right time. I would think Phil Jackson is doing the exact same thing with this team right now. Since we are already the number one team in the West, there is really no need for us to go full speed at this time like we did the last couple of years trying to get into the playoffs.
If I have to make a prediction, I would actually say the Eastern conference champ would win this year's championship even though west is clearly the better conference. The problem in the west is every team has to fight so hard to get an ideal position in the playoff standing that they have to go with full strength all season long. This leads to them being exhausted both physically and mentally come playoff time. And by the time finals comes around, they'd be too tired to play at their very best. Boston and Detroit, on the other hand can take a couple weeks off and still be the top teams in the conference.

I don't know, tonight Pau had 25 points and 9 assists. We were using him a lot, and he made a lot of plays. We've been scoring a lot of points since we got Pau, I don't think that's the problem.
But now, teams know how to play us. Push the ball, attack us in the middle where we're soft, and most of all, utilize the screens. We're not defending the screen well. The slip screen, p/r, pick and pop, teams are just killing us with screens.
It's a combination of miscommunication, a lack of commitment, and poor preparation.
We're out of sync, alright, but it's on defense. We can improve, most definitely, but without Bynum, we're going to have our limitations.

They just need a new challenge. But Phil seems to be going in the opposite direction of that.

kobe mentioned the last game and stu mentioned this game, the kings play their own way and its really hard to prepare for them. nixon even said the lakers lost to a very physical kings team and their record may not really show how good they really are. another reporter mentioned that if their team stays intact they could be in the thick of the playoff race next season. i really doubt that artest is going to stay though
either case, are starters had really good stats and we only lost by one point. we almost won this game too but we didnt pull through, maybe next time

It falls on Phil. These game and the last game against cowtown the defense has been Ridiculously bad. It's just sad. So what does phil do you asK?

Listen i know phil knows what he is doing but he needs to keep these guys mentally focused. Losing to the kings on their home floor, in such a tight confrence is hot vomit. Its not like this team has won anything, why take it easy on them? They don't know(minus Fish an Kobe) how or what it takes. So
Get on them Phil, yes even Kobe. Challenge them!

I agree, numbers are there, just not in the flow. The team seems dysfucntional. We had some sloppy wins..
