The kid has a lot of athletic talent but he can't dribble. He doesn't know how to get open off the ball. Has zero post game. The rest of his game was mediocre to awful. You can have all the talent in the world but just not having 1 skill can really hurt you.

I wanted Granger. Green was a close second for me though. I would probably still take Green over Fran V. If we had taken Granger this team probably looks completely different today.

Minor did a hell of a lot more than Gerald Green ever did. Sad but true.

It's time for Green to go overseas and learn how to play. He has talent but he needs to learn the game humbly.

i can't wait to see the Knicks sign the kid now and then expect Kobe Bryant for him in trade talks.

Wow. Poor Green. I don't even think he'd be eligible for the playoffs since the deadline past. From slam dunk champ to nothing. He should give Harold Miner a call.

all the athleticism in the world is not going to help a guard with no jumpshot, handles, or any real feel for the game

he can dunk barefooted though

Green is a very good jump shooter. The rest is accurate though.

I still wouldnt be opposed to us bringing him in for a try out. He still has talent and he cant be any worse than any of our SGs. Plus he actually has the size and athleticism to play defense against other 2 gaurds.

I would have zero problem with cutting Augustine and bringing him in. I still think the kid can play, and his size and shooting ability make him a decent fit in SVG's offense.

his jumper is solid but he has a flat footed release and has trouble getting it off when he is guarded, he has to be pretty open to make it. he has no bball iq, and terrible handles, which negates his great finishing ability. think about it, he couldnt even make the rotation on 2 of the worst teams the past 2 years (last yrs celts and this years twolves). i think he will probably be a bust unless a team takes a chance on him and is very patient.

im pretty sure most ppl were pissed at the Magic for passing on Granger. as i recall green's stock fell drastically just days before the draft which is why he fell so low.....but in any case, id rather have drafted green and seen him be a bust on our team then draft fran and never have him come over

Of course, if he had worked out the same way here, then people would have added this to their list of busts in the draft. And those people who were pushing for it originally (and there were a lot of them) never would have 'fessed up that they really wanted him. It's the Catch 22 of being a GM. If fans like a guy and you don't draft him, you're an idiot. If they like him and you draft him, and he's a bust, you're an idiot and they forget they ever liked him. That's the beauty of Real GM. Posters never have to be accountable for all the things they would like to see done.

Plus the reality of that nba door closing in on him might make him work harder. And that could make him a decent player. There's been many no talent players that have stuck around because of their 100% play on every play.

I dunno, Green has tons of talent.. From 3-point land to his athleticism. If he had a half-way decent head on his shoulders he'd be an all-star. Kid tore up the McDonalds all-star game.

It worked for Trajan Langdon & Marcus Haslip. You can even get back to the NBA (ask Anthony Parker).

I definitely wouldn't mind taking a chance on Gerald Green. I think the kid actually has a good amount of potential to be a better than average player in this league.

I wanted Granger or Green. I think if Green were drafted here and played with Dwight, his career may have gone pretty differently from a work ethic and a production standpoint.
