It is a hype thing MaxRider, but it symbolizes the current respect your team is getting.

That is very very cool.. bragging rights for sure.

No need to be a downer about it, savor the moment while you can. We're getting the rightful attention we deserve as the hottest team in the nba right now. Knock on wood.

Truth is I don't want the attention that we're getting right now. I want us to go about our business game by game, without the hype. I know it's impossible to avoid the spotlight right now because of our win streak, but still.

Exactly.

I'm wondering if we should lose a couple games so it seems like we've come "back down to earth", then turn it on in the playoffs.

Because let's face it--that's the time for a 16-game win streak. ;-)

I used to think that way as well, but our players are playing as if the streak doesn't even exist, which is the ultimate sign of maturity and heart. They haven't let their ridiculous winning get in their heads, they're still blowing out teams left and right giving 100%.

I think you are getting better respect than tanking and missing the playoffs. Although you won't be respect as much as you should be unless you prove yourselves in the playoffs.

Nice to see (though like Roosk said, like to go under the radar more) but in the end this doesn't really mean anything.

I disagree. The Rockets have been ignored despite playing well over the past couple healthy years. Yao and T-Mac have been slighted over and over, and now they're finally getting some recognition. I understand what you're saying. Hell, I find myself worried about the posters here saying "All we have to do is beat the Hornets and we're going to win 21 straight." I like the recognition. What I fear is complacency and Iggyemu's seemingly neverending pessimism.

All long-time Rockets fans are entitled to their neverending pessimism.

Choke City, when we suck, Clutch City when we're good. Houston always has been, and always will be, both.

i wish tmac and co. wont look at this, i mean i want them to eat humble pie the rest of the way. i just want this team to be under the radar until the playoffs, heck! even in the playoffs! i want this team to be the underdogs for that's the only way we can unleash the beast hidden inside our players throughout the rest of the season.
