Correction: He "cries" about not getting a chance to fight for his NBA career. Anyone who wouldn't do the same in his situation is ignorant. Gerald wasn't in Minnesota's future plans, they weren't playing him, his only hope for an NBA career was to be dealt to a team that had plans for him down the line. Note that Green didn't care so much about playing time, as he cared about having absolutely no prospects for the future.

He's not a lockerroom problem, and he's not Stromile Swift. Stro doesn't workout with John Lucas in the summer at a camp known for being one of the toughest out there like Gerald does. Gerald works hard, and he can shoot the ball. He's arrogant (which I'm going to bet has been toned down a bit by being dealt for a 2010 2nd rounder and then cut), and slow in picking up the playbook, but he's got the ability and work ethic to develop into an effective player.

As a Gerald fan, the most frustrating thing about his recent fall from graces has been the comments about a lack of work ethic or desire, because that simply isn't the case.

Thanks for the help, Mrs Green, and give our apologies to your son.
