If Baron could lead Wesley, Mash, young Monta, Jax, Biedrins, Pietrus, etc to the 2nd round, then what could he do with Camby, Melo, Mutombo, Snow, McKie, Kleiza, Najera, etc? That's 2 DPOY centers, a very good defensive pg, a 6MOY, and an elite scorer. That with several good role players. Baron has had to play with MBENGA and Pietrus, Al, Barnes at center.

Your just misinformed. That's ok, everyone has been one time or another. I'll help you out. Ask any Nuggets fan how well Camby is playing and how good of a man defender he is. He is a help defender stat stuffer and nothing else. Probably the worst man defender of Centers in the league. Melo scores, but turns the ball over, is still immature and plays even worse defense that Iverson, especially with his stature. Please, don't get me started with the Sixers. he played with no one worth even mentioning and still got to the playoffs every year and to the finals. No guard in this league, even AI, alone was going to beat Shaq or Duncan in this decade except the Pistons with their 5 all-star starters.

Mutombo (the defensive anchor and DPOY in 01, one of the greatest defensive centers ever), Snow (all nba 1st team D and elite defensive pg), and McKie (6MOY), weren't worth mentioning??? Ask anybody- they'd say Mutombo was who truly allowed the Sixers to advance. W/o him, whoever AI was guarding would get wide open dunks each time he failed to get a steal.
And BTW- who has Baron played with? Washed up Mash, Wesley, Magloire, Monta, Jax, Biedrins, and a bunch of D-Leaguers and jump shooters on the Warriors. Give Baron a help defender like Camby or Mutombo and watch him go.

What are you talking about LMMFAO. He got to the FINALS with Mutumbo, McKie and Snow and I wouldn't call a past prime Deke, McKie and Snow anything special to begin with

Nobody was going to beat the Lakers that year either, they only lost 1 game in the entire playoffs that year and it was to the Sixers led by AI's 48 in the finals.

This whole decade was dominated by Shaw and Duncan with the exception of the 5 All-Star Pistons.

This years Nuggets team has alot more to do with AI not playing well enough. Read earlier in this thread....

They got to the finals that year, so I'm pretty sure they helped a great deal at what they did best. That's what it takes for any great player, a cast of good role players and they were just that.

I like how people are bashing their own teams to defend their star player haha. Bottom lines is that Baron is a better PG and AI is a better SG. Baron is a playmaker who can score and AI is a scorer who can a little. If i were to start a team with one of them, I'd pick baron primarily on his PG skills and ability to guard, but that's just me. If I want someone to put up points ill take AI. On average, AI is a guy who will carry a team with his scoring. Although Baron does the same in crunch time, he is most effective when he uses his talent to get his team involved.

Maybe I'm overexaggerating each side, but the Warriors have a glaring weakness in their rebounding and post play, which is a huge one especially in the west (see the Jazz series). The fact that the Warriors are still in the playoffs despite that is very amazing.

I take baron just because he is a real defender, while iverson gambles too much and needs a big-pg to defend for him, if played at the two-spot...offensively I think they are at one level at this point of their career! (acreerwise you have to go with iverson!)
