Iverson....

Post#1 » by magicfanejc42 » Tue Mar 11, 2008 5:06 am

So, I was noticing something, Iverson really wanted to be traded to a contendor, and now that his team may not even make the playoffs do you think he may opt out, take a smaller contract and play for an Eastern team with better chances?

Such as Orlando or Cleveland?

I don't mention Boston or Detroit due to the fact, I know Iverson wants a ring but I don't know if he is ready to take a bench role and he would have to do that in both of those places...

I know this is premature and most people wouldn't want him here if possible,

But you think maybe Iverson opts after this year, to go Eastern?

NOT EVEN CLOSE to being ready to take a bench role. Guys who take bench roles average 12 ppg, not 28. Give it about 4 years...

Like I said, he wouldn't be ready for a bench role... But I said to a contendor in the East, instead of the impossible West...He is on a VERY stacked team that would most likely win the East or come close..and they may not even make the playoffs...I was thinking he may come over to the East for better chances..

I mean the man could still carry an Eastern conf. team if needed..

Why would he not start for Boston? Either at PG (replacing Rondo) or at SG (replacing Allen).

Scary thought of Iverson on the Celtics, if that did happen I would quit watching basketball.

If he became a starting guard for the Celtics next year, they'd probably post like a 75-7 record.

Iverson is having one of his best years ever. His scoring is down some, but he's playing with a higher bball IQ.

Not so fast....

Didn't Reebok just give Iverson a massive extension and bonus? With that said, he might be willing to take a lesser amount to play in Boston/Phoenix or maybe even Orlando... (Wishful thinking) Due to Reebok supplementing his salary....Scary Thought of Iverson joining the suns or Celtics...

Can you imagine what the offseason trading frenzy would be like if that happened????

Ironic, but only because of the conferences the two teams play in.

Denver would probably be the 3rd seed, or at worst, 4th seed, in our conference (not going by their current record, but by the fact that they'd have had a much easier schedule).

it's good to dream, but fantasies might hurt you in the long run because you might expect it to happen. let me explain. when you dream you could be talking about acquiring the likes of lewis or turkoglu, someone who has a legitimate shot of being traded for the right deal, when you fantasize, you're thinking about acquiring the likes of kobe, dwight, lebron, iverson, etc. it just won't happen
I live rent free in your head. You know who you are :D

Not changing this sig until Magic win a championship. Started 6/26/2015.

Iverson Coming Here????

I think He would go to Toronto than coming here

Think about it.

TJ Ford or Calderon
Allen Iverson
Jamario Moon
Andrea Bargani
Chris Bosh

That would be a team

I think there is 0% chance that we get him but if somehow we did i think this lineup trumps your raptors lineup x10000

Jameer < Calderon
Iverson = Iverson
Hedo >> Moon
Shard >>Bargani
Dwight>>>>>Bosh (sorry Bosh)

Magic would just score a whole bunch of points.

Raptors play better defense than we do and Score as good. Getting Iverson would just make the Raptors better team on the Defensive and Offensive side. And Giving them the Superstar Gaurd that they need to go with the Superstar Big. Plus them having good supporting cast. Plus them having TJ Ford or Calderon (Real Point Gaurds).

We don't play defense or have a reliable supporting cast.

How do you figure they have a better defense?

So in a nutshell you are telling me that Jamario Moon, Andrea Bargani, and Chris Bosh are better than Hedo, Rashard, Dwight?

No way.

96 Points a game allowed? :-?

I'm just saying

To Quote the other Post

I never said they were better than us. In my opinion both teams are as good as each other. I'm just saying Allen Iverson would be a better fit for Toronto because they are in a dyer need for a Star Wing. They have a good Supporting cast. One of the best in the league. They can score the basketball, They can play defense, and They've got the Superstar Big.

Magic need a supporting cast, they need to play more defense. Before we could get our hands on a guy like Allen Iverson.

Both Teams would be better. But the Magic would be like the old Suns who just run and run. That obviously dosen't win championships. But the Raptors would be more of a complete team.
