The dude is totally obsessed with #24 to the point he tried to look like him. Does this mean we have a shot at him on the cheap?

like he said when he came into the league he was thinking like a fan. so I guess that explains his fasination with Kobe, but he also rides Stocktons, and Wilts, jock pretty hard.

I think his ego is to large to come here and share the spot light and I don't think we would want him anyway.

I do agree with his point about Ben Wallace, Artest, Danny Fortson not being used the way they should be used.

I was thinking maybe we could get Arenas through a S&T sending out Lamar and Luke. Maybe sign GA at about 17 mill. I'm not trying to Star24 you guys on a trade, I'm just exploring options because there is nothing else to do. I know its pipe but this line-up is incredible:

Farmar PG
Arenas SG
Kobe SF
Gasol PF
Bynum C

if your definition of cheap is a max contract
which we don't need here, we're spending a lot of money as it is

Not sure if any of you guys saw it but the white dude on PTI also said he thinks Arenas will be aLaker next year. When Wilbon said the Lakes didnt have the cash Tony (the white dude) rolled his eyes and basically stood by his statement. I dont think we have a shot at him but stranger things have happened. he would add more entertainment and he is from la
but bynum is already on his way to getting a big deal when his contract is up
and the FO still doesnt know how much they'll retain odom for,
if odom asks for too much...he's out
next year's line up i see farmar cracking the starting line up

farmar
arenas
kobe
pau
bynum

*kobe is the oldest person in the line up*
scary enough?

remember egos destroyed the 04championship run
have we learned our lesson...or are we going to stack it up anyways for a run at the title?

this line up features enough fire power that could last until kobe feels like retiring maybe around 38 or so*(he stated he wouldnt play pass 38 )

does not fit in at all. I don't care what he says, or how much he loves Kobe.

Arenas is the type of guy who would take every opportunity to get as much money as possible. He would even blog about it.

Thus, I really doubt he'd take an astronomical paycut to play for his hometown Lakers. Arenas is nutty, but when it comes to money, out goes the funny.

Paul Pierce grew up in Inglewood, but when the Celtics offered him the max he said, I love Bahston.

If money wasn't an issue?

Arenas would be terrific. His best point on his blog, which is absolutely true, is that he's just a player. No, he's not a pure point guard. He's a player. He can shoot, pass, drive, etc. In a point guard-driven system, Arenas wouldn't perform as well. In the triangle offense? Sure. Triangle requires guards to be able to shoot; any other skill can and will be utilized. The triangle de-emphasizes positions and operates on skills. What can he do? Arenas can do a lot.

I think that was Arenas' point when he said Nash wouldn't do as well in the triangle. On the other hand, I think Arenas was implying he would do well in the triangle, because he's a player.

Gilbert is a bright, bright guy. I could see him fitting in with the Lakers as a 3....not a point guard, but as a small forward. Or even move Kobe to the three, play Gilbert at the two and have Farmar run the point. That would be sick. It'd fit the triangle nicely.

C Bynum
PF Gasol
SF Kobe
SG Arenas
PG Farmar

He won't play for the MLE though so it will never happen. It'd be a fun team to watch though.

I also think it is a long shot but you never know. Perhaps L.A. $ dollars may be worth a little more.

What I mean is, for instance the player may make less with a paycheck from the Los Angeles Lakers organization, but will have more opportunities in regards to marketablity and endorsements. He would have an instant increase in recognition if he ever was a Laker. (We are talking casual fans and worldwide audience). If memory serves me right I think Kobe makes much more from his endorsements per year than from the Lakers. Gilbert would also benefit from being a Laker as well.

But again, a long shot. Don't bet on it.

Only way we get him is a S&T for Lamar with Luke or Vlad. Washington would probably want Luke more than Vlad. However, even though the line up looks good on paper Arenas needs the ball in his hands to much and I don't think it would be the right mix for our team.
