I am happy that Shaq is no longer on our team as much as I am happy that he does very well with the Suns and wins another championship.
This team needed a change in personality and attitude and it started with Shaq. Now he is gone and we can concentrate on other things.
IMO, this thread should be locked since this is old news and it only invites people to come and instigate. Heat fans are happy without Shaq, Suns are happy with Shaq end of story.

Whenever Miami is eliminated from the playoffs, I'm always choosing the guys who deserve a championship.
1. Dallas. Jason Kidd and Eddie Jones, two of my favourite players. Hard when I dislike the organisation, but I'm still picking them
2. Boston. Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen. All class acts. Add in Posey, who we all have great respect for.
3. Houston. Tracy McGrady I watched the other day and he is picking teams apart, playing ultimate team ball. Gets far too much crap for not getting out of the first round despite never having been a substantial favourite in any series. Mutumbo should have one too, although his contribution will probably be too small to matter.
4. Denver. Allen Iverson would probably up at 2 on this list, but I don't like Kenyon Martin (fugazy) and I'm a selfish Wade jocker who doesn't want Carmelo, LeBron or the rest of that draft class getting titles either. Marcus Camby could also do with a title.
5. Golden State. Well I just love how fun they are, the style they play, and the excitement of watching them. Would like Webber to nab a title as well
6. Phoenix. Grant Hill deserves one, Steve Nash should get one to legitimise his years. My desire to see them went down when Shaq got there, but not for the reason you think. I'm a big proponent of exciting, fast break basketball (who isn't) but the argument is always that you can't win championships with it. I wanted them to win when Shaq wasn't there to prove it can be done. Now if they win it will just enforce that it can't. I truly believe they would have won it last year if not for the suspensions. I'm also not particularly interested in hearing Shaq talk smack about the Heat and Wade if he wins either. If he didn't, I wouldn't begrudge him a 'chip.
7. Lakers. Don't really care about Kobe or Gasol winning one, but I like Odom. Although winning with Odom probably minimises the chance we get the guy back (possibly as a trade for Marion or in FA in 09)
8. Utah. Don't particularly like or dislike the team. A big fan of Williams, but he has years to get one. Would be nice for Sloan to beat his demons I guess. Let the league know these taskmasters can still get it done.
9. New Orleans. Don't particularly like or dislike the team. A big fan of Paul, but he has years to get one.
10. Orlando. Not really any guys on here aching forr a title, but Stan Van Gundy would be legitimised with a ring as a head coach, so I'd ber cool with Orlando.
11. Spurs. These guys have enough, Damon Stoudamire and Kurt Thomas are decent vets, but not worth having a title next to their name.
12. Toronto. Theres not really a vet on there worth getting a 'chip, and while we love Kapono, he doesn't even have a major role on that team anymore. More worrying would be Bosh re-upping after winning a title, as we may want him opting out in '10
13. Cleveland. Again, theres not really a vet on this team who I feel needs a title (Snow, Ilguaskas, Joe Smith meh) and both the rivalry with LeBron and for the fact he can opt out when me might have money makes me not want LeBron getting one up.
14. Pistons. Well the guys are the team you love to hate. Whine on every call, already won a championship. I used to like Antonio McDyess, but not enough to want to see these guys win again.

I don't think I could ever root for these guys. They are damned good, don't get me wrong,, but they are probably one of the more arrogant overconfident teams I've ever watched.

You are so proud that Shaq's team has gone 4 and 6 with him.BigDaddyPR wrote:hmmm.. no "comments" on Shaqs game vs the Spurs?? LOL!!!
Reminds me when you were here as a so called Heat fan, came gloating after every okay game by Shaq. And that wasn't that often.
Know, on the game. They played okay, I wasn't overly impressed, San Antonio had lost to Denver the previous game, they are in a mini slump.
Suns will get taken out the first round, that is a guarantee. You could quote me all you want.

Yeah, I just ranked 1-14 the teams that I think have any small shot at the title and the Pistons have to be last. I in no way mean I'd cheer for them. I ranked all 9 West teams in the playoff hunt (as it is so close) and all the East teams with > .500% records.

I got lazy. Wiz under .500% record. I suppose when Arenas comes back they may get a real injection and be more competitive. Plenty of time for Caron to win one though.
Caron + Haywood + draft pick for Blount + Beasley
Odom for Marion
Haslem for Alston + draft pick
There's Caron's championship team
C - Haywood / Mourning
PF - Odom / Hardin (Rockets pick)
SF - Butler / Wright
SG - Wade / Cook
PG - Alston / Banks / Augustin (Wizards pick)

"I love playing for this coach and I love playing with these guys," said O'Neal yesterday. "We have professionals who know what to do. No one is asking me to play with Chris Quinn or Ricky Davis. I'm actually on a team again."
