wth
Dumars was amazing. One of the, if not the most underrated players ever, imo. Could be whatever you wanted as a guard: a 10 assist guy, a 20 ppg guy, a clutch shooter, or a defensive stopper. His numbers are very deflated by virtue of the style his teams played, and the fact that he often adopted whichever of the above roles his team needed on a given night.
That said, I could see an argument for McGrady having a better individual career. Wade, not even close, yet, though if his career keeps on the current pace, it'd be an argument.
But by no means is this a 'wth'.
Edit: IMO Drexler should be higher. IMO it should go MJ, West, one of Drexler or Kobe, the other one of that duo, then maybe Gervin, etc.

I really have no problem with this list, Wade and McGrady aren't on the level of the men on this list.
I would have also gave Mitch Richmond an honorable mention.

how are they not? Have you ever seen Iverson or Reggie Miller play....Tmac just needs to lead his team further in the playoffs and Wade is not on the list cause its his 5th year.

That Nicka wrote:Wade is already a top 10 all time SG imo
Kobe will most likely pass West, but he hasnt yet imo
Also, for some reason, I dont feel like Maravich or Monroe are evry deserving of their spots... I might go with 2 of Moncrief, Richmond or McGrady over them
I agree...... other than that the list is OK.

I'd call Maravich and West point guards; they both brought the ball up and initiated the offense for their teams. If it's about size, then Magic and Oscar would both be twos; if it's about role, Maravich and West are points.
For that matter, John Havlicek played an awful lot of two guard for Boston and the normal three in that period was more similar to the two today (the place for spot up jump shooters who could slash if needed) than the modern three. Gervin started as a three but was pretty clearly the two once the Spurs hit the NBA and for the majority of his career . . . you can tell by looking at the other guy who might be considered a two and most were even less of one than Ice.
That gripe made (again) . . . of the guys who played the majority of their career at the two (such as it is) . . .
Jordan
Kobe
Drexler
Moncrief (peak over longevity)
Dumars
Richmond
McGrady
Gervin
Reggie Miller
Ray Allen
David Thompson would be on my list over Monroe for the number 11 spot and I'm probably leaving someone off that should be there. Iverson I would consider a two and if he was as good in the first half of his career as he's been in the second, he'd make my list but he was too much the poor percentage gunner (especially v. someone like Gervin), too poor a defender (same reason Gervin isn't top 3), and too much the negative team leader (practice anyone?). i'm glad he's matured but he's still not worth it to me.

^ What kind of argument is this, you should identify what points you must make in order to make your case.
how old are you?

1. Michael Jordan
2. Kobe Bryant
3. Jerry West
4. Clyde Drexler
5. Allen Iverson
6. George Gervin
7. Tracy McGrady
8. Reggie Miller
9. Ray Allen
10. Joe Dumars
The fact that people have Maravich and not Ray Allen, or Dumars but not Allen Iverson is shocking to me, TMAC has already had a great career, and maybe not stat wise but he is having the best season of his career right now, his best chance for an MVP is this year.

I'm in the minority though because a lot of people are starting to like him now.
I don't like him at all, but you need to give him his props, he is the best player in the NBA right now, so you can't hate greatness.
