Think that if we end up with Rose, we have to trade Foye. Both those guys need the ball in their hands at the point to succeed (Rose is more of a passer, Foye more of a scorer.) Foye isn't an NBA two.
On topic, McCants is, and IMO should start because the team needs his long-distance shooting. So there are two scenarios that could play out if we get a 1-2 pick:
One - draft Beasley, play him at the 3:
Beasley
Gomes/FA (a Joe Smith type vet)
Jefferson
McCants
Foye
Two - draft Rose, move Foye... maybe with Madsen for a player like Cleveland's Varejao?
Gomes/Brewer
Jefferson
Varejao
McCants
Rose
Not sure if Cleveland would want to do that, but you get the idea. I don't think Foye and Rose could comfortably coexist. If Rose is the guy for the future, Randy has to go.
Shad---his long term fit

Foye is a good long distance shooter also.
If we draft Rose then Bassy is gone, but there is no need to ditch Foye or Shad. We can easily have a 3 guard rotation with those guys. Foye can bounce from 1 and 2, Shad can play 2 and Rose can play 1 48x2/3=32 min per player. I think this would be a strong rotation.
I think Foye and Rose would compliment very well.
Also, about your line-ups. If we got Beasley I would lean to bringing Shad off the bench for fire power as we do now. Perhaps start Brewer at the 2 as a defensive stopper.

On Foye - I agree, he can shoot. I just think he's at his best with the ball in his hands. A three guard rotation of veterans usually works well, but young guys trying to establish themselves? I can't think of an example where that's worked out... but maybe I'm missing an obvious one.
If we got Beasley you're right, Brewer would be a logical start next to him on the wing. If Brewer works on his shot and bulks up this summer, he's going to look like a different guy in training camp.

right now Shad is off the bench and it is working fine. Also shad is not such a spring chicken next year. I think that he/foye and (rose/bassy) would work fine.
of course I am advocating for a big to be drafted.

Though I think Foye is better whit the ball in his hand, thats not to say he cant play without it. His off the ball offense is pretty decent, he knows how and when to get open and he has the playmaking ability as well as the ability to swing the ball to the open man after a pump fake.
If Beasley can play the 3 in the NBA, fine he's our guy. I see no point in keeping Gomes though as Beasley probably plays the same role Gomes does. We can resign Telfair and Cookie, let Gomes walk and all is good, though i REALLY like Gomes.
If we decide Rose is the guy, thats fine too, only we let Telfair walk and we keep Gomes. Rose will make Foye that much better. Not only can Foye play well off the ball, but he can learn a thing or 2 from Rose and a little friendly rivalry never hurt anyone.
