Possible Williams Interview-Link on Page 2
Hey guys,
I am possibly interviewing Deron Williams Wednesday night at the Bucks game.
Do you have an interview angles ideas or some random questions that I could ask?
Here is an interview I did in the past:

Thanks for any help I can get.

Don't sugar coat your interview and ask questions we already know and that have been asked. Nothing pisses me off then reporters wasting away opportunities because they feel the need to suck up to athletes.
I like Rive's marketability and long-term questions.
Also ask him if he can talk Jazz brass into having better introductions. Ours are the lamest in the NBA.

Ask him if he has even been star struck now that he goes to these huge media events.
They showed him on the E! channel the other day when they were reflecting on Tony and Eva's wedding, ask him what it's like to be along side movie stars now, and if he ever thought he would become the socialite he appears to be by being any NBA player.

The lights go off starting next year. Believe it or not we have those old church gym type lights that take 10 mins to turn on after they have been turned off.

Here is a couple of suggestions
Hope some of these can help, and even get some answers that many of us Jazz fans have been always wondering. Obviously, there is always gonna be obvious set of questions that you will always ask him, to please the general audience of your journalistic piece, but also I recommend you to crack in some of these hard nosed questions that might reveal some interesting facts that no one really knew about D-Will.
- *Who would you take for a championship team, Deron Williams or Chris Paul?
*Do you believe you will ever release your own signature shoe?
*How has working under Sloan system affected how you shaped your game? Would you ever like to play in a system like Phoenix or New Orleans?
*When you retire, where would you like to live in?
*Name your three best player friends from the NBA that are not on your team:
*What are your dream averages in a season? Do you think you can make it, when?
*Can you talk about your relationship with Andrei Kirilenko?
*Quoting him "We need guys that have a championship vision. When you have your vacation plans already, that's not a championship vision." Who did you mean by these comments?
*Do you think you will ever win a championship for Coach Sloan? How much does it mean for him, and talks to you about it on practice?
*Knowing you live in Utah, what do you do for fun there?

Ask him what steps he has taken and needs to take to mature into the leader of the team.
Ask him what he wants people saying about Deron Williams 10 yrs from now.
I dont think anyone has really talked to him about the Illini Wildcat tourney game, where they made the most amazing comeback in tourney history in awhile. Does he keep in contact with Dee, Luther, Augustine, Powell?
What he thinks about the U of I down year?
What facets of the game he needs to improve on?
I think personalizing it is always good, people tend to do very dry and bland interviews with Jazz players. Thats why when Deron, Boozer, Korver etc. are on national tv a lot of us dont watch.
Perhaps ask him about his tastes in fashion, music, cars etc. The signature shoe idea was good as well. I liked the marketability one as well. Does Deron want to be that guy that breaks the mold of small market player who can actually be marketable, or does he feel that its to hard to do.
You could also try a family angle, being a young father of two and balancing that with the NBA or talk about his point of hope foundation.
Hope that helps.

Williams is up for a contract extension after this year, right?
Has he made any comments or do most people think he will get the max?
He hasnt really made any comments, however, Owner Larry Miller partically said he is gonna get a max extension.
"If he keeps making the kind of progress he's making, I couldn't look him in the eye and tell him it was fair that he wasn't a max player," Miller said. "He's not that good yet, but he's got a long ways down the road to getting there."
"We'll have to do some engineering but we've known for over a year that it was coming and we're planning for it," he said. "As far as I'm concerned today, it's not just Deron's next contract. However long he plays in the NBA, I want him in a Jazz uniform.
