Superman gets called out!

Post#1 » by SevereMagic » Tue Mar 11, 2008 8:59 pm

Check this guy out... first he trys to do the same dunks as Dwight did in the Slam dunk contest, then he challenges Howard to a dunk out.

What a lame.... no competition!

Dwight's were better, he seemed to throw it down harder, had a little more flair.

nice to have the option to edit. If the video had run straight through id be more impressed. But after each dunk the video stops so who knows how many takes he had.

didnt he also jump off 2 feet, from a little further back, in front of tens of thousands of people, without the advantage of camera editing?

There's also the difference of the magnitude of the stage they've been performed them on.

That guy was lame. Sure he could do the same dunks, but barely. Dwight did em all and had time to cook dinner while he was up there.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

this guy has as much hang time as redick..which makes his dunks look average..half the dunks he did barely went in..that wasnt impressive at all

No doubt he can dunk, but callin Dwight out from the D-league is just stupid.
It's really not about being able to do the dunks that D12 did because it's not all about the dunks, what makes it amazing is that a 6'11" 270 lb man who is the starting center of the East All-stars, and is averaging 21pts and 15rebs in the NBA can dunk the way he did.

i'm not even gonna say he did dwights dunks. he did do the behind the backboard, which is sick no doubt, but where was the superman? he jumped like a foot closer than dwight did, what i really wanted to see if he was for real was the Kiss the rim dunk and that tip-to-myself dunk that dwight did in the third rd. THAT dunk really shows how high dwight can jump, he's ok, i dunno about his nba career tho. another gerald green

with that said though, i don't mind him calling out dwight. I mean he has no right to obviously, but he's a young gun tryin to make a name for himself. its all in fun, so i kinda like that.

I'd give him props if he was 6"11 and 270 pounds. Instead he's 6"8 210.

PG gets more air than that guy.
Seriously, on the behind the backboard dunk, Dwight was a foot or more back on the leap, and that Petway guy's head was UNDERNEATH the backboard. Dwight's neck was hiding behind the glass when he did it.

On the Superman dunk, Dwight was 2 feet further back than that guy.

If there ever was a state that made Florida look good,... its Idaho.

As for you Mr Petway, naming your dunk Batman isn't that bad considering where you took off from.

Meg! Ppppppp!(fart noise)
let paid professionals do their job, don't you try and do it for them...

"Well his Batman dunk wasn't a dunk, so..."

Seriously though, this is a joke... I don't think I saw one original dunk in his package, and every dunk in there I've seen done better by someone else, either with more power, hang time, or flair.

This would be like Brent Barry saying he could take MJ or Dr J because he could do the FT line dunk too... please... the dunk contest is about innovation & showmanship, creativity & flair.

Dr J was the first to do the FT line dunk, MJ was innovative and added his own flair, being the first to do it while dribbling in, Barry just copied and his FT line dunk is long forgotten in the annals of dunk contests because there was nothing original about it.

Dwight was innovative to think up dunks no-one had seen and dunks that would look good because he had the disadvantage of being 6'11" this guy should come up with some of his own, innovative dunks and then maybe he can talk smack.
