OT: NCAA basketball and March Madness discussion

Post#1 » by big3_8_19_21 » Mon Mar 10, 2008 6:03 am

This is mostly a shameless plug for my team because I go to Drake and we just destroyed Illinois State 79-49 in the MVC championship game (biggest margin of victory in the MVC championship in history), but also I figured it was about time to get a March Madness thread going.

Who do you guys have picked as upsets? Who do you guys have winning it all?

I like that small school of scrappy overachievers, you know the one, they don't have much size but they can get hot and beat you with the 3 ball.

I expect them to get to the elite 8 and we're all rooting for them and they come up just short.

I heard them say on sports news recently that (Missouri Valley Conference Drake predicted in the preseason to finish 9th in the conference) rookie Drake coach Keno Davis is a top 12 finalist for NCAA coach of the year? Has anyone seen who the rest of the finalists are and how soon do they announce the winner?

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see (15)Uconn in the final 4.

Kansas St vs Texas A&M Should be good.

Im waiting to see a Kansas Texas rematch in the big 12 finals. If the A&M of the past two games shows up I think they win.

I have a hard time imagining anyone else winning it. From a preseason prediction of 9th in the MVC to 20th in the nation at end of the year?...and managing to do that DESPITE having Klayton Korver as a starter?

Oh, I had a friend who went there the last two years but you probably wouldn't've known him.

Do we assume Donte Greene is no longer on the draft board?
