If you guys truly believe that we need to trade Foye if we get Derrick Rose, why are you trying to foist Jarrett Jack back on us?

Foye's per-minute numbers were almost identical to Roy's in his ROY first year, and Foye's missed a lot of time with injury. A #13 pick for him? MIN is too heavily invested to trade him away for a pick that's barely in the lottery.

He really doesnt care where he plays al long as he plays. And he said in an interview during some game that playing the 1 is actually BORING.

No way, Foye and Rose would be sick.

I think you may be missing the point (pun not intended) if you think Jack is the key piece Portland is using the entice the Wolves. The OP used our pick as the primary piece and the filler player (Jack being one of a number of guys possible) as a secondary incentive. I was trying to use salary savings as the #1 piece, with the pick being second and using Jack as a throw-in for a little added incentive.

Anyway, I agree with you that the Wolves have too much invested in Foye to give him up for what the Blazers would reasonably be willing to offer.

All that deal shows is you have not seen much of Foye, nor know his roll with this team. I would not make any deal that had the chance of Portland improving. We know Foye is good, we would not trade him to you for a mid level pick and a back up.

Man can you imagine how badly McHale would be skewered by the national media if he traded Foye to Portland and he developed into a stud next to Roy? It would be very ironic, but MN just isnt interested in trading him; it would be a classic example of selling low.

Foye really hasnt had a chance to show what he can do. He was a reserve most of last year (only 12 starts) and has only played 19 of 63 games this year due to injury. When given the chance to play, he hasnt disappointed. I think most Wolves fans are lookig forward to seeing what he does with a full season next year.

If the Wolves get Rose, Telfair will be the one to go, not Foye. You'll be free to bring him back to Portland if you wish.

Here's another attempt to trade for Foye using less-than-exciting pieces.

I'd love for the Wolves get a low lotto pick to take Hibbert or Thabeet - but Foye is worth more than that, and Jack does nothing for me, and Wolves should keep Foye.

Bottom line is this. Both Foye and McCants have proven that they can score the ball. Both have the potential to be 20 ppg scorers in the nba if they continue to mature. Keep in mind both these guys had knee injuries and both of them are barely veterans. Both missed their soph seasons IMO. Who knows how good these guys can really be? So No team would trade proven players with high potential for completely unproven and cap space. Makes no sense. I'd see us reaching on a big in the draft before trading Foye.
"Dude, all I am saying is we already have a starting RB, his name is Chester Taylor. Besides AP isn't that good anyways. I hope we draft McFadden." --Me after he broke the record.

In defense of my proposed trade of Foye, here's what I was thinking-

Jefferson = Duncan?

Brewer = Bowen?

Fernandez = Manu?

Rose = Parker?

Madsen = Horry? (okay maybe not; how about Gomes?)

Wolves = three future championships?

Foye is more like Parker than Rose IMO.

The Detroit comparison has always been more apt, with Foye as Chauncey, Shad as Hamilton, Brewer as Prince, (Beasley as Sheed?). Plus Jefferson. No need to trade. An please, take it with a grain of salt.

yea, I would not trade him simply because his value is less than his talent right now. I am excited to see FOye for the rest of the season, as well as develop this summer. If we draft a pg then we have a nice 3 man rotation with pg/Foye/Shad if we draft someone else we can still have a nice 3 man group with Bassy/Foye/Shad. It is all good either way.

I don't get why Blazer fans wouldn't trade Rudy in a Foye deal. Uh if we have Roy and Foye, where is Rudy going to play? On the bench? You really think he'll come to Portland to be a bench player, especialy in light of his recent comments about being worried about playing in Portland because Sergio gets no playing time? If we get Foye, Rudy likely won't come anyway, so why wouldn't we deal Rudy to get Foye?
