Our wizards insider had some good stuff to say about Bogut, so I thought I would come here and share it with you guys

LINK

He hasn't donned a Superman cape like Dwight Howard. He didn't enter the league with the hype and hope of Greg Oden or Yao. Some might argue that Bogut isn't even the best center from his draft class named Andrew (Bynum would get a few votes). But at the very least, the 23-year-old, ambidextrous Australian should soon find himself as Howard's backup for the East in the All-Star Game.

Thanks for the link. Obviously the Wiz saw Bogut on one of his better nights, but I suppose it's always good when outsiders have nice things to say about your players. I thought this was the most interesting part:

Bogut was asked about being a leader on the Bucks, but said that if was difficult to assume such a role with the constant turnover since he joined the team. Many players on the Bucks are worried that the team is destined for another blowup this summer, with the future of general manager Larry Harris in question, and several observers believing that the team needs to start all over with just Bogut and Chinese rookie Yi Jianlian, who missed last night's game with a wrist injury.

"You got a new coach coming in again, probably a new GM, the way things are looking; the things you read on the internet," Bogut said. "Next year, it's going to be the same again. We are going to have to adjust to a new GM. That's the toughest part. No matter how many leaders you have, when you keep shuffling things around, you have six or seven new players each year, it doesn't help the chemistry of a team."

That probably won't keep Bogut from wanting to remain with the Bucks. He is eligible for a lucrative contract extension this summer. "I would definitely like to get extended," Bogut said, "but obviously, we also want to see the direction of the franchise. I think it's stable, but you want it to be more stable."

I'm not sure of the context of the question--Bogut might have been referring to what the rumors are saying, or he might have been referring to LK being new this year, but it certainly reads like he's saying LK and LH are gone...

I think the Bucks are going to take steps this offseason to ensure Bogut wants to remain in Milwaukee. I think one of the steps will be to trade Mo, Redd and maybe both.

"If we could bottle up the second and third quarter and play like that the whole game, we'd be a decent team," Bogut said. "We just go to isolation basketball; we go 1-on-1.

"Obviously we want Mike (Redd) to take shots, but at the same time, what got us back in the game was moving the ball. Guys were taking it to the basket and weren't settling for jump shots.

"That's how it was before I got here, and it's a hard thing to change. Obviously when Ray (Allen) was here it was the same thing; you live and die by a shooter. That's how we do things and we want to do them that way, but we still can definitely move the ball."

Let's see--to make Andy happy and "productive," move out one starting center who could actually rebound as a center, change big men coaches, remove head coach--now move the starting SG who is much closer to being an AllStar caliber player, and a PG who is as close as Bogut to being an AllStar at his position. Maybe even throw in removing another earlier starting PG for Andy's comfort. Wow, lot of movement for a somewhat above average center.

epi - I'm a big Michael Redd fan but I can't find fault with anything Bogut said. I don't disagree with your primary point - that Bogut hasn't done enough to merit having his needs met - but I also agree with everything he said. The problem I had with Redd last night (and the problem I have with Mo quite often) is that they ignored what was working in favor of forcing their own offense. Even though Redd shot very well in the fourth quarter, I think his mindset took the Bucks out of their game and undercut their chances to win.

I don't think the issue here is whether Bogut has done enough to have the team cater to his wishes. I think the issue is whether Mo and Redd are willing to consistently adjust their games in a fashion that will result in more meaningful team success. I have no belief the two of them together will be able to do that. Perhaps one of them can with the other being shipped out but at this point I'd just as soon trade them both and start over with a different backcourt.

You forgot that there was another team playing that game as well. Is it posible that Wizards adjusted to Bogut and CV and therefore Bucks had to change "what was working" ?
