IMO Tj ford is absolutely killing calderon's game. Calderon was having an amazing statistical season from the pg position with a spectacular assist/to ratio and was playing fabulous ball at that position and some even claimed he should be an allstar. Ever since ford has come back he's been chucking up shots and taking away his minutes, and the've been mediocre (i know bosh is out) but before bosh went down they were better off w/o ford.

The raptors need to do something and pick a pg, they've said publicly many times calderon is there guy but ford is starting to play more minutes, i guess calderson had another off night, but we've seen what he can do....btw if tj is not his problem, what happened to him?

The biggest problem I see is they have 2 capable very good starting pg on their team and it's hurting the other whoever gets less minutes...ie calderon

so what exactly are you proposing?

That he should be Traded?

I grew up around TJ and he is an extremely good player... the only thing he doesnt have is a real consistent jump shot if he could develop that a little more he would be real dangerous. I somewhat agree though since Jose Calderon started getting alot of PT i pretty much saw that TJ would be the odd man out eventually... we just have to wait and see.

on a sidenote... TJ's dad has a sick jumper during pick up games here in the houston area when he plays he'll tend to stay about 7-8 feet behind the 3 point line and shoot from around that area only... and he hits them at an enormously high clip at least 50-60% and anyone who knows the ford family could easily co-sign/confirm

yea raptors should def look to trade ford. they are better without him. ford is a really good player, and i think alot of teams are gonna want him. ford deserves to be a starter and he's not gonna start for the raptors with calderon. but i watched the lakers game today, ford is taking away jose's minutes and aaffecting his game alot.

You can't blame everything on Ford though part of the problem is Calderon's lack of mental toughness.

toronto should sign his dad. They need 3pt shooters up there.

not sure what the OP is implying, i think everyone knows that both of them are top rate point guards. TJ was 5th in assists last year, people don't think he's a scrub

what happened with J. Kapono??? and TJ's dad might hit them at a high clip but he's a short guy probably 5'9 on a good day and he stays out that far because he's not as fast as he used to be... he would probably be a good shooting coach though

TJ Ford cannot finish around the rim, if his life depended on it. He can enter the paint just to botch layup after layup.

Also, his grasp on team basketball is very, very questionable. He likes to hog the ball a lot.

And on top of that, he has a very bad attitude.

he's prolly scared of busting his ass again honestly... and the attitude thing is pretty much a family thing... his brother Tim thinks he's gods gift to hip hop but thats another story

i don't see why calderon's recent slump has anything to do with ford. they split the minutes, if u add up each other's playing time, you will see they combine for the 48 minutes. so it's not the way ford plays that influences calderon's game, cause they aren't on the floor together.
it's just a slump calderon is in, like everybody is once in a while. nothing more, nothing less. sooner or later calderon will be out of it and be back producing. they can be happy they have a guy like ford as the backup.

I am not comfortable choosing one over the other but i will say this, one is keeping the other down, they would both benefit a lot more and develop a lot better if they played in different teams getting 35mins a game.
I know its hard to choose beucas they are both good players and good people but they simply do not work together and are stunning each others growth.

Last year it seemed to work good with both guards it was like they had a starter on the floor at all times.But since TJ got hurt again Jose really took advantage of his playing time and has proved that he's a starter.Calderon deserves the bulk of the minutes and if TJ is fine with that then u keep them both if not u trade him for draft pick or something.

TJ was playing incredible at the beginning of the season. Like a top rate point guard. By the time the playoffs roll around he'll be back to that form. Why would we trade him when his value is low? Better to trade Calderon and get a star wing player who can take us to another level.

yea right then why isnt Ford a good shooter? if he doesnt have a jump shot chances are his dad wouldnt be a good coach.

Calderon is more well-rounded than Ford. If they want a SG in a PG's body, then Ford is their man. Otherwise, I'd choose Calderon.

Last night TJ Ford totaly killed Toronto's rhythm in 4th quarter, he never passed the ball and played 1 on 1's whole quarter. I won't even compare Calderon's and TJ's pg skills and their effectiveness.

I don't understand why he's still a PG. I've always thought of him as a SG. He would disrupt Toronto's flow less if he didn't have to orchestrate the offense every time down the court. They should've kept Villanueva.

T.J. doesnt have a good jumper because he always relied on his quickness to blow by defenders. BTW your reasoning as to why TJ has no jumper makes no sense... if thats the case all of the Barry boys should be NBA Legends, and Eli and Peytons older brother should have a superbowl ring too
