The important point, the truly important point, is what Pierce stated at the top: if Perk plays like this through June, the Cs win ..... the NBA championship. Period. That is true. If Perks gobbles up a board every three minutes on the floor, plays first-rate D and getting three blocks per night, and manages to score 10-14 points per night while making over 60 percent of his shots, the Cs separate from the pack.

This is what I always expected of Perk. His rebounding drought this year, it actually started last year, confounded me. If he holds down the fort in the paint, our chances for success in the playoffs increase dramatically.

Now I'm just waiting to hear from Ray and Paul that one of the other two of the Big Three is the MVP in their eyes. It would just mean there are no issues between them of being "the man".

Good stuff.

With Perk playing the way he is the front line of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Kendrick Perkins is easily the best front-court in basketball. Possibly the best front line of the generation with an awesome mix of offense and defense. It's my belief that games are won in the painted area... the Celtics have a huge advantage against teams when Perk dominates the middle like he has been.
