My answer would be that Gasol can get you to the playoffs ,Rodman can help win championships for you.

So which you take depends on whereabouts you are on the NBA power curve.

If you are at the bottom or in the middle you take Gasol,If you are already in the fight for a title you take Rodman.

You cant find ~15 rebounds a game anywhere but there are always 15pts and 8rebs players everywhere in the league.

You cant find a player who can whisper something to someone in the 1st quarter and have them still out of the game in the 4th everywhere but there are players who are not motivated on a losing team everywhere.

You cant find a player who will sacrifice his offensive game for the ability to become a defensive stopper at multiple positions everywhere but you can find players banking on their height to insinuate they are defenders everywhere.

Dennis Rodman doesnt grow on trees but you can find a promising european player around every corner in the NBA now.

Dennis Rodman with lipstick and a wedding dress over Pau on his best day.

Even on a one on one I'm taking Dennis to win a game one on one to beat PAu and take him into negative digits. One thing about Dennis was he may not score but there was a good chance you wouldnt either.

That Nicka wrote:Rodman is pretty much the defensive equivalent to Pau's offense... if that makes sense... Rodman is as good defensively as Pau is offensively... So it really just depends on whether your team need defense or offense

Rodman's defense is far better. Rodman is one of the best defensive players to ever play the game. Can't say the same about Gasol and his offense.

Not to mention this is a guy who averaged nearly 19 boards a game for an entire season just 15 or so years ago.

I would take Rodman any day, on any team. He is the best rebounder ever and a DPOY caliber defender. If your team isn't desperate for scoring there is no reason not to take Rodman.

Anyone who takes Gasol is an idiot, plain and simple. Rodman is one of the best defenders and rebounders to ever set foot on an NBA court. I can name A LOT of guys who put up 20 and 9 with average defense. Rodman had two losing seasons in his 14 year career both of which were 40-42.

Forgot to mention, even though he isn't much of a scorer Rodman improves the offense by grabbing tons of offensive rebounds.

I wouldn't call Rodaman DPOY but he is the best rebounder and crowd pleaser.
