Close Wins? No thanks!

Post#1 » by Bay_Areas_Finest » Thu Mar 13, 2008 3:00 am

Over our last 11 victories, we have won by an average of (about) 16.7 points per game.

Early on it seemed like all we could do is win close games, and there were just hard to deal with at times because our team was capable of so much more. Ofcourse, during this latest run, we've dropped games here and there, but it is nice to see that dominant side out of our team where we are finishing teams off and jumping all over them late in games.

GO MAGIC! :D

It sure is relaxing though.
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

It is a LOT more relaxing to win games by a lot then letting teams hang around.

You're welcome. ;)

It just got to the point where I was like "Damn, it seems like we're killin everyone" so I had to figure out the exact numbers. :D

But much like you guys, it's definitely relaxing. Makes me feel more confident about our ballclub, although, I'm always confident. :o

Some would say that is not a good stat. Simply because that would suggest that were beating up on bad teams and then loosing to good teams.

And richboy arrives with his unbridled optimism.

Coach Man has preached all year the need to get out to an early lead. It clearly pays off!

Of course, by that same token, our last three losses have been by an average of 12.6 points. But hey, just so long as we have much more W's than L's, I'm fine with whatever margin they happen to occur by.

believe it or not, i think the 76ers have the highest overall win margin this season, when they do win, something like 18 points...

I know Toronto had a stretch of games there for a while were they won three or four straight games by 20+, too. Funny how teams who have otherwise unspectacular records can turn it on when they want to.

Only crowd noise suffers, but I'll take it if it keeps me from losing my voice.
Big wins also keeps our players' stamina up and prevents injury.

yeah, i too would much rather win by a lot and rest the starters, but a win is a win and i'd take it however it came
