No doubt. Some of the things Shaq did/said were extremely unprofessional, if not blatantly immature.

I just can't hold a grudge; I'm too grateful for what he did for the franchise.

Yeah I dont hold a grudge at all, I like the big fella. I certainly hold him responsible for the demise of the Lakers , along with Buss and Kobe ... but in hindsight it was best for everyone and I am for one and grateful and happy how it all turned out.

Right and he asked to be traded. Also a big difference.

8) Well Kobe asked to be traded too....the only difference was the management didn't or couldn't comply..

Right, because they didnt want to. The difference is had Shaq done everything he did in MIA. ( Weight loss + contract) they wouldnt want to have traded Shaq either.

No, the difference was that Shaq demanded more money than he was worth.

Kobe wanted management to get off their ass and bring him more help than Smush Parker and Kwame Brown.

Shaq wanted money, Kobe wanted to win.

That's the difference.

Dude, remember when Pippen was talking smack about Kobe wanting to be like Jordan, hitting him in the ribs? remember Pippen was so pissed he started to beat on innocent stacks of towels?

Remember when Kobe messed him up and said, get up bitch?

Oh man, those were good times. Remember Steve Smith posting Kobe up? Made me nervous man. Steve Smith was really tough back in the day.

You have to end your career as a laker for you to retire as a laker. And i would rather that fat ring chaser retire as a Sun, or as a heat. I could care less where his jersey gets lifted up as long as it's not in staples.

Well,Shaq did the most during his time with the Lakers won three rings, only 1 one Miami,1 Finals Appearance Swept with Orlando and no way he is winning a title with the suns. Shaq's prime years were played for the lakers w/o him they would be no three peat, and with lakers he was the most dominant center in the league hands down. It would be a huge mistake not to retire shaq's jersey in the staples, it would be a crime against the lakers organazation 3 time finals mvp, season mvp,3 time champ,4 Finals Appearances and when he played for l.a he was the best center in the league.

Shaq/Buss need to realize those were great times and Shaq needs to realize thats where he was in prime. In Orlando his game hadn't fully developed and Shaq was just getting his feet wet. In L.A always 50 plus win teams and in title contention,3 titles,3 finals mvp says it all. In Miami he helped D-Wade win his 1st ring, but when in that 2006 Finals thats where Shaq showed he was slowing down, and what D-Wade did to help the underdog heat beat the mavs was amazing. Suns he shows he can rebound, but defintley not the scorer he used to be and hes making the suns slow. Suns could have gotten a way better package for Marion, what they need is Defensive Player like Ak-47.

So with that said Shaq had his best years in L.A and people need to remember he and Kobe were the best duo in Sports winning three titles with everyone else pretty much role players Derek Fisher,Rick Fox,Robert Horry,Brian Shaw,Devean George, etc.
I don't think I Trust The Process anymore! :banghead:

Shaq did not just make a simple contribution to the Lakers. He was the main reason we won 3 titles in a row. Kobe was great and all, but the Shaq daddy was the 1# option and the guy teams ran double and triple teams at.

Like Kenny Smith used to say on Thursday night on TNT. Shaq allows Kobe to play 1 on 1. Something Lebron (now), Allen Iverson with the 76ers, Paul Pierce (before KG and Allen) did not have the luxury of having on there team. They didnt have a 7-0 320 pound beast with great abilities, dropping 30 points and 13 boards on 60% shooting as a 1# option.

As for Shaq with Phoenix. Are you sure you have watched the Suns lately? The Suns are a better playoff team with Shaq, then with Shawn Marion. He can defend Duncan 1 on 1 without needing double and triple team help. This was not the case with Marion.

As a Laker fan with Bynum most likely out for the season,i wouldnt feel so confident iif i were you if it came down to a 7 game series

Gasol vs Shaq

Gasol will not outplay Shaq in a 7 game series. Especially with Shaq now rounding in to Shape.

I can easily see Shaq punking Gasol in the playoffs. It aint like Gasol is a great playoff player.

Yeah. I looked at that picture in the OP and it did nothing for me.

I don't have any hatred or love for Shaq. He's just a member of another team now.

Thanks for the rings, see you when you retire.
