1st Round Matchup
With just under 20 games left in the season its time to start talking about the Playoffs yes the Playoffs Jim Mora.... The C's will hopefully be the #1 seed but there are currently 5 teams within 2 games of the 8th seed (which belongs to the nets as we stand today) Who would you rather see in the 1st round and why?

I think so too but id rather see the kiddless nets than the hawks who hustle and give 100% everynite
You're right, but Harris, RJ, Vince, etc. is a pretty talented core too. In terms of pure talent, I'd say the Pacers are the worst. I wouldn't mind the Sixers either.

The Nets....simply because I'm residing in NY and can easily make any C's-Nets game in the swamp during the playoffs.

Oooo, me too, hadn't thought about that!!!
But I already voted Bulls since they've been pretty fragile all year so far. Maybe they'd get their act together in the playoffs, but it doesn't look good.
Second choice would be Pacers because i think we'd beat them easily, plus we owe them, plus it would give Ainge bragging rights with LB.

The Nets. If the Pacers have a healthy Jermaine O'Neal and land some of those threes in Obie's system, then they could be trouble. I wouldn't want to face the Bulls if they suddenly get their act back together. The Hawks would at least make the C's work for it. The Bobcats have given us fits all year.
I just see the Nets as the easiest route, but would predict a sweep over any of those teams.

With Kidd gone I am not worried about any of those teams. Atlanta in theory with their talent could potentially cause some trouble. The Pacers have also done some strange things this season that makes them very slightly dangerous (putting up 130+ points a couple of times).
But without any key injuries and as long as we maintain the focus and intensity we have been displaying for a majority of the season the first round should be a four game formality.

..am I the only one that wants to face a quality team in the first round?
The last thing the Celtics need is a heartless Nets team or a completely inexperienced Hawks or Bobcats team...
For my money, I'm hoping for the Bulls or the Sixers...two teams that play tough, but don't have what it takes to beat the Celtics in a 7 game series...
Look, the Celtics are going to have to face Cleveland in the 2nd round, so I want a team like Chicago, whose playing better and has playoff experience...I don't want the Celtics to have a cake-walk first round series and then get smacked in the face by a much tougher 2nd round foe...
...its better for this team to have progressively stiffer competition as the playoffs go along...a cream-puff first rounder hurts the C's ealry 2nd round performance potentially and I don't want that...

Bill, I know exactly where you are coming from. But I've been following the NBA long enough to know that unforseen things can happen in the playoffs. So while I do agree with your sentiment, I rather make sure we get to the 2nd round with everyone healthy, rested, etc. because we got the King waiting for us in the 2nd round.
And I live in Manhattan which is 20 minute bus ride to the Swamps. So NETS NETS NETS!!!
