Ray: Last 20 games

Since missing one game with the flu against Miami in late January:

FG: 136-264 (51.5%)
3FG: 55-116 (47.4%)
FT: 57-66 (86.4%)

Clearly, he needs to get out of this free throw shooting slump.

47.4% from 3, and nary a shimmy in site.

He's the guy I'd like to see taking a couple more shots per game at this point in the season. Paul has been great with his defense and assists, but Ray is the guy who can put games away with his quick release and shooting range.

Ray starts shooting lights out and the celtics start blowing teams out. The two are certainly related.

...these are the types of percentages I expected from Ray when he came over here....NOT because these were his typical percentages, but because of how many more quality looks he'd get with PP and KG with him...

...I would fully expect these trends to continue, not just this year, but next year and going forward beyond that...the game is so much easier when other double team threats create space for you to operate...

Now that Ray has adjusted to his role on this team I expect the best is yet to come...

...and he should be getting more shots if he's shooting like that...

He is definitely playing better though I still would like for him to dribble less. A lot less.

While that may not be the worst idea on the face of it, sometimes its good for shooters just to get a feel for the ball in their hands. Even if it means over-dribbling on a couple possessions.

Also, Ray really turned his playmaking up to another level in the playoffs with Milwaukee (averaging six assists a game). Defenders became so afraid of his shooting (he was lights out for most of the playoffs that year), and he would go by them off the dribble with ease and find open people. It may not happen as well for him in Boston's system (and being six years older now), but he has that type of ability in him.
