I just wish we hired a legit big man coach for Gadz like 3 years ago. Or if Gadz could get off his butt and work with Bogut and Sinisia maybe that would help him.

Somewhat surprisingly, Chandler has never been an elite shot-blocker and this year his numbers in that category are way down (just 60 blocks in 59 games).

I definitely don't think Gadz is as good as Chandler, but to be fair Gadz is actually blocking shots at a higher rate than Chandler this year (0.5 bpg in 11 mpg vs. Chandler's 1 bpg in 35 mpg). Gadz's career block rate is also higher than Chandler's. And Bogut's been a much better shot-blocker than Chandler this year as well.

Rebounding-wise, Gadz's 04/05 season was actually better than Chandler's best year (an insane 22.2 rebound rate vs. Chandler's 20.7 last year). The problem is Gadz hasn't come close to rebounding like that since 04/05; he was at 17.2 last year and 16.6 this year, both best on the team, but not in Chandler's elite rebounding league.

Chandler's at a career-high PER of 18.15 this year; the 04/05 Gadz was at 18.16. It's not to say Gadz hasn't been very disappointing since then, but I think it's easy to lose sight of the fact that Gadz was playing at an extremely high level before he got his new contract.

Oh wow, I didn't know that. Thanks for pointing that out for me. But I still don't think Gadz can stay out of foul trouble on a consistent basis. He falls for every fake and tries to block every shot.

Gadz is just complete garbage. yes once in a while he can have a good game but he doesn't have good basketball senses. I've seen him in warm ups air ball a lay up. honestly if you are 7 feet tall and air ball not just one but several lay ups you don't deserve to be in the league and make 6 million a year doing it.

Gadz's problem is his lack of basketball IQ. Furthermore, he doesn't seem to be the most confident player either, even when he's playing well.

Gadz seems to be at his best on a team that plays disciplined basketball. As long as gets the ball in a position where he knows what to do with it (i.e. while on a beeline to the hoop) he's fine. But as soon as he has to improvise, problems arise.

If the Bucks make the changes we all hope for and manage to start playing team basketball (as opposed to chuckball), I can see Gadz become a rotation player again. He'll probably never be worth his contract, but seeing how he can both play together with Bogut and act as his backup, I'm not ready to give up on him yet.

Then again, if the Bucks decide to stick with the chucker offense, it's in everyone's best interest to trade Gadz. And if he gets traded it will have to be to a contender - I think Vlietinho & myself have earned as much.

Gadz would be the best YMCA rec league player in human history.

But I still prefer him staying with the Bucks though. Just trade either Mo or Redd for a real PG.

Kings offered us Kenny Thomas for Gadz last season. :banghead:

Thomas' contract is even worse than Gadzuric's.

Why bother making an observation when you can scream "he sucks".

Gadz has been hurt a great deal playing in this mix of players.
YOu are also correct like Sideshow Bob in Cleveland if he played with someone like LeBron James everyone would love.

Passing is the most underrated skill in basketball. A great passer can make very ordinary players look like pretty good scorers and players.

But of course we would need a good coach that can teach spacing, and utilize the talent we have on the roster. Or can teach post entry passing.

Balls2TheWalls wrote:I had an interesting thought today while watching Gadzuric today in the 2nd quarter. How great does Gadzuric play when he is on the court with a great passer? He runs the court very well. He finds excellent seams to slash through on offense, and when someone who can pass is on the court with him (it was Sessions and Bogut tonight), he looks like the player we justified paying 6M a year to. Could it be that the loss of TJ Ford, and to a lesser extent Tony Kukoc, was the downfall of the dunking dutchman?

Seriously, do you even watch the games? 99% of the time that he's in there he's doing nothing but getting fouls and missing easy shots. Once in awhile he has a good game like Wednesday night but overall he's just not very good. Read this thread, a lot of people agree with me, he's just not very good. He had a good year where he got a contract and ever since then he's been nothing. When a player needs to be open to be effective then he's nothing more than a 8 mpg hustle guy and 8 mpg hustle guys shouldn't make 6 million dollars a year.
