Deron's a better shooter. Paul.

Actually I would say the traditional PG and SG roles would be shed for a G/G role for each. Deron is more of a shooter and Paul has the uncanny quickness. Each is a deadly passer and i see both looking for the player most likely to score. I'd say assists would be pretty even.Buckeye-NBAFan wrote:This is stupid. It's obvious Paul would play PG and Williams would play SG. Who do you think would have more assists.
And obviously Kobe would have more points than LeBron. LeBron is a play maker first, Kobe is a scorer first.

I actually think a CP3/Deron team would be awesome. Deron is big enough to guard 75% of the SG's in the league, and the truth is he is better then 90% of the SG's in the league, then having Paul at the PG, that would just create mismatches everywhere.
It would be the best back court the NBA has seen in a long time.
To answer your question, CP3 would probably average more as he would benefit from Deron's shooting on the drive and kick.

I just know it's be fun. They are good friends, so they'd be passing it amongst each other a ton making very fancy plays. Obviously though you couldn't have a whole lot of strength between the center and the forwards if you had these two already. Think about having to give these two the MAX!? Anyways, they are definitely strong leaders and very mature high basketball IQ players for their age, so I definitely think of any two PGs could make it work that these two could certainly do well.

Deron did the whole 2-headed PG thing at Illinois, so he's no stranger to it. Hell, Illinois often put Deron, Dee Brown, and Luther Head all out there at the same time, so Deron was actually playing SF.
As some have said, I think Paul would likely average more assists because he'd be playing the more traditional PG role. I think Deron would make a fine SG, and in the same backcourt as Paul, yikes. One thing is fore sure: he would probably become a pretty prolific scorer in that situation.

Why would one of them have to guard the SF's? The team would have a SF, so there's no reason for Deron to be guarding Artest, Carmelo or Lebron. Wade is 6'4.75, so he's not some bad matchup for them, the best guy at guarding Wade for a while had been Kirk Hinrich who is 6'3.
