Who Is Today's Dirtiest Player??

Post#1 » by The Guilty Party » Thu Mar 13, 2008 8:58 pm

I just watched the video of Bruce Bowen kicking Chris Paul in last night's game...

http://youtube.com/watch?v=w8WXVJQ06Sk

... and I started to wonder if Bowen is the dirtiest player in the game today. In the past there were guys like Laimbeer, Mahorn, Rodman (ok, the entire Pistons team) who were regarded as "dirty" players. I've heard that Stockton was a dirty player even though he was regarded so highly so who is today's dirtiest player?

Is it Bowen? Artest? Who Ya Got? My money is Bowen. He's made a nice living off of his defense and at times, he seems to cross the line and take things too far.

I'll wager a can of planters nuts (or Kaman's) that Evans would get a few votes.

Al Horford's been in the league for all of 6 months, but his wack on the head of already fragile TJ Ford caught the attention of many people around the league.... That was one of the most vicious blows I've ever seen in an NBA game. The Hawks were getting run roughshot by the Raps, and that cheapshot in the 4th quarter reeked of frustration and angst. Suffice to say, he wasn't going for the ball.

I did a search for Bruce Bowen on youtube and almost every video is on him taking a cheapshot on some NBA star.

It's hard to top this guy.

bowen, probably.

that al horford thing was not intentional. we had a huge argument about that when it happened. i don't think it was intentional at all, it was just unfortunate. he was stupid to even go for the block, but it wasn't intentional. if he was trying to hurt ford he could have done a lot worse than slam him in the face. i mean, he did hurt ford, but if his intent was to do that he could have done it a much more harsh way.

Well, I do not agree with you on that. I think he was going for the ball and he just missed it. It was a hard foul and probably one in which he should have been disciplined for (I have no idea if he was) but I doubt that he was actually deliberately trying to hit TJ on top of his head.

The Boozer one is the most dirty and dangerous of those clips.

That Boozer foul was vicious. It looks like he elbowed Evans in the head.

Good thing Webber had his teammates' back.

"There is blood coming out of Evan's ear..."

That's some scary stuff.

Karl Malone was probably the dirtiest player ever.

Don't forget that Boozer lied to a blind guy to even get to Utah.

Am I the only one that doesn't see how the guy being blind has anything to do with it? He was successful enough to own an NBA team, clearly he has some idea what he's doing in the business world (Insert Dolan joke here)

Bruce Bowen has to be the dirtiest player in the league. I remember watching a video of Vince Carter and he was upset with Bowen and the way he plays defense. Carter was saying that Bowen was putting his foot under Carter when he was shooting so when Carter landed he would land on Bowens foot and twist his ankle. Little things like this earn Bowen the top spot on the list of dirtiest players.

I think Boozer was just upset with the Kings, and he wanted to get back.
