I think the answer to his effort this year is obvious.

I think the better question would be what's the chances of him turning this years grade into a B or A next season?

Not good, especially if we lose Okafor.

I'll say D+

The guy is a rookie head coach, I didn't expect for much. I'd expected we'd compete for a playoff spot which is exactly what we're doing. Now if we had a veteran coach and the same record i'd say an F, but this is a new guy, he's learning on the fly, so I cut him a little slack.

I doubt he has what it takes to make the jump to an A or a B. He's going to have basically the same team next year plus May, Morrison and a pick between 6-10. We'll have depth next season but the way Vincent mismanages things I doubt he's going to find an innovative and effective way to get Carroll/Morrison/Dudley playing their best ball at the same time.

Plus I'm not totally sure he hasn't lost the player's. Our guys are quality people so they aren't going to call him out but they don't strike me as being particularly inspired under Sam. My worst fear is that we improve to 30-32 wins next year just because of the roster additions but Vincent gets the credit and we take three years to figure out he's not the guy we need.

Maybe JValone touches on the reason that MJ has the "reputation" he does among league fans as a team administrator...and why everyone keeps on whipping him for how Washington turned out.

My theory is, with Michael pushing for playoff time, if we don't make the dance this year, a 2 inch leash needs to be applied next year if Vincent survives past the end of this season. At the first sign of trouble, even if it is training camp, Jordan has to hit the eject button. Judging by the overall records in the EC, making the playoffs was generally doable. That we have done so poorly, to me indicates that in getting an inexpensive coach :nonono: , we have cheaped out in the wrong area.

Assuming that Vincent has "lost" his players respect, the timing of learning on the job is "Cat"astrophic. EO50 is in a contract year, and if he were to leave and become year 1 and year 3 EO50 for another team, Mike
will single-handedly kill pro basketball fans' interest in this team. How many years would it take to recover? We immediately go into the Miami-Minnesota-Seattle class with only Nazr as a big for this team. What Charlotte needs is to re-sign Emeka and bring in the talent to help him in the front court. That means four contributing bigs- of which we have two, Emeka and Nazr. Whether Davidson and Hollins can become the other two remains a question mark to me. Vincent doesn't like to play young players. Guess what? The Bobcats ARE young players. If he is reluctant to develop OUR young players, he needs to be shown the door...TOMORROW. Michael or not.
