I'm sure PP would be up for it. I, however, would have absolutely no time for it this summer. Got some things coming up that are going to be keeping me real busy.

Hey all, if any of you are from BBF, I'm Jones2011. I'm here from there, and I thought I'd stop in here and say what's up. I know Grang33r, but I'm not sure about the rest of you.

Hopefully I can make my presence known... but for now, I must go celebrate Daylight Savings and sleep for a less amount of time so I can wake up tomorrow morning feeling like crap and hating the fact that I have to go to church.

Later guys!

The old thread was getting a bit long, so we're starting a new one.

Here's the link to the original thread.

If interested, you can add the original to your favorites by going into it, then clicking on the "Add to Favorites" link just above the quick reply box.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

NEED HELP
I'm looking to move to Indianapolis, but I don't know the area. It's just my daughter, wife, and myself. Looking to rent a 2 or 3 bedroom apt. Just wanted to know the best part of Indy to start looking.

It all depends on your lifestyle, and how much you are willing to spend on rent per month. I would advise you , however, to stay away from the east side if at all possible.

I usually would be 100% game, but I'm going to have to pass on that grass. I'm in 3 leagues already and I don't have the time I used to...

Good luck to all though, I highly recommend participating...all the leagues we've had in the past have been a blast...

I'm pretty boring. We don't go out much. Movies, dinner, Pacer games. Aside from that, not much. I would like to stay under 800 if possible. I honestly don't know what I'm looking at as far as realistic prices. I live in a small town and only pay 400 for a very nice 2 bed 1.5 bath townhouse. So my knowledge of prices in a big town is slim. I'm using Rent.com for my search and Indy is just so big. Thanks for all the help.

Thats badass. If he can pull that off for my 03 mustang that would be great. LOL. Hell if he can do it to my Vibe or Mazada I'd be happy. LOL. Not sure the wife would be so happy though.

When I first moved here I lived on the west side. I looked at the South side, but ultimately ended up on the North Side. Since you are from a small town you might hate the traffic, but I find it to be about the same on all sides of town.

Since you like going to movies, you would really love the North side because we just got a brand new AMC theater. The picture quailty is 10x that of HD. The screens are HUGE. Movie tickets are expensive though at 9.50, but if you go before noon it's only like $4.

Also the drive to downtown is only about 15-20 minutes.

I am posting this with a heavy heart. A 19 year old parishioner where I work is in a battle for his life. His name is Michael Treinen, and he is battling acute myelogenous leukemia (AML). He beat it once, but it's returned. This time he needs a life-saving bone marrow transplant, but his lifetime limit on health insurance has been exhausted. His family must pay the $500,000 bill out of pocket. His story has been featured on Call 6 for Help, in the Indy Star, and by word of mouth. I recently received this plea from his mother (a local school principal that I had the joy of working with for a year when I was in high school):

Kelly Treinen wrote:Hello Friends,

We are parents who are pleading for your help. Our son Michael is 19 years old and last May was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML), a fast-growing cancer of the blood and bone marrow. Many of you already know Michael's story but let me give you a few highlights. As of May of 2007 Michael was a typical goofy 18 year old from a typical family in Noblesville, IN who was ready to graduate from high school. Michael loves hockey and lacrosse. We, as most of you, thought that nothing would change our lives in such a drastic way. Boy, were we wrong. Michael had some swollen lymph nodes and when they were checked we were told the devastating news of cancer. We put on our "big girl pants" and were ready to fight this thing. In December, Michael went into remission but by January was back in the fight. This time we are in the fight of our lives.

Fast forward to now, Michael has been receiving treatment at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. His next step is a bone marrow transplant. Michael needs to have the transplant in order to survive. From our research the best place for treatment is Children's Hospital in Seattle, Washington. Now here is the catch. Michael is at his life-time limit for insurance. In order for Seattle to schedule the transplant we need send them a check for $500,000. We are no longer the typical American family and like most of you- do not have $500,000 to send them.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! We are asking three things from you:

1. Your prayers that we get our miracle and Michael survives his fight with AML and is able to return to the life of a typical nineteen year old.

2. Please send a donation of $20.00 to the:
Michael Treinen Medical Trust Fund
c/o Mr. Sid Loomis
Harris Bank
107 W Logan Street
Noblesville, IN 46060

3. Please pass this e-mail to at least twenty (20) of your friends and relatives and ask them to send this email to at least 20 people. Please feel free to share a personal connection with Michael and our family.

This a time-sensitive grass roots campaign to raise the $500,000 that Michael needs. Time however is not our friend. We need this money to be received by Thursday, April 3rd. We have to get treatment started as soon as possible!

I know that many of you do not know us. I can assure that a year ago we would never have believed that we would be asking not only our friends and family, but complete strangers to help us pay to save our son's life. Believe me when I tell you this is the last thing we want to be doing. But, you do what you have to do.

Please help us and send a check to the bank...today! Also, please send this email out to everyone you know. I know we can do this with your help. If you want to know more about Michael, you can go to http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/michaeltreinen.

God bless and thank you,

Tom and Kelly Treinen

PS: All funds that exceed Michael's medical needs will be donated to charity- of course something to do with CURING CANCER!!!!

Of course, you all are not obligated to do anything. Any prayers would be greatly appreciated by the family, of course. However, if you could give something, anything, it could help to save Michael's life. Send Kelly's letter in email form to anybody and everybody you know that could help. They badly need a miracle.

Thank you guys.

We've had a miracle!

As of tonight, Michael's family has confirmed payment with the hospital in Seattle. They've raised enough money to cover his payments for the treatment!!

$500,000 in under a week. It really is a miracle how this city of Noblesville rallied around him. All the restaurants were holding fundraisers, students were canning for money around town, churches raised a ton of money from their parishioners, and business even came out in full force.

This truly is a miracle.
