HOw much is Monta Ellis worth?
http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archi ... _at_monta/
Looks like Mem maybe on the move to try and get him. I'm assuming his market value is set at what kevin martin got last summer(5 yr 55mil). Is it possible some team comes in and offers Monta a 5 yr 70-80 mil deal? Would the W's be willing to match that offer?

^what people outside of the warriors fanbase failed to realize, is that WE never let Arenas go. Our hands were tied. We couldn't go over the cap to sign Gilbert, beacuse we were at the luxury tax threshhold and didn't have his bird rights. Because of that, NBA created the "gilbert arenas" rule, where they will allow us to go over the cap and sign our players, if that's the route we want to go.

+1
Why would they have let him go if they could match? There were changes to the CBA after the Arenas and Boozer debacles. Why would GS let Monta walk? They managed to land Wright and Belinelli last summer along with Beidrins and Ellis to form a nice, young group. I don't see them letting those guys get away.

If he's signing to a team that doesn't play up-tempo then he's worth 6-7 million per year.
great analogy.

Must be true, if it's a rumor you read on Hoopshype.

One of the top 3 fastest and quickest players in the league, only 22, vastly improving every year, can create his own shot, very good jump-shooter, great finisher, and he's scoring 19.6 ppg while shooting 53% from the field as a SG.
He's a decent passer, 3.7 apg and only 1.9 TO, but he'll probably remain an undersized SG his whole career.
Considering everything though, I'd go over 10 million a year for Ellis. He has the ability to be a star in any system.

Wouldn't be suprised at all to see some team offer the max, with the season he's haveing, and this recent stretch of games, his numbers have been jaw dropping, add to that the fact that he is still really young, putting up huge numbers in only his third season. It wouldn't shock me to see someone offer him up the max. With his age and abilities, it might not be a bad signing either, when you look at some of the other player's out there makeing max money.
