Great win today by the Nets...probably one of the best wins of the season. Harris had an excellent game with 11 assists and only 1 turnover. We need him to take charge of running this team. Setting up his teammates but still getting his own. VC had a poor shooting night but was aggressive going to the hoop (14 free throw attempts). RJ had an excellent game and of course clutch shot to take the win. Boone...awesome to see him getting some easy buckets. Hopefully he continues to get some touches in the offense. Our bench sucks. We need some help...someone needs to step up.
Finally for whoever thinks we're gonna beat the Celtics, you're nuts. We've won two in a row--lets not get carried away. Lets just see if we can maybe get into the playoffs before worrying about the Celtics.

Oh wow, it's really unusual for Stromile to be really vocal with the refs. Usually he's an extremely quiet person.... he only complains when he really feels he got fouled. At least it shows he's passionate about what's happening on the court and that he really cares.
As for the rebound and coming down out of bounds, i'll have to check that out.

yeah i dunno. it almost seems like swift refuses to impact the game. haha. He just kinda in there running around, being in the play, but not affecting it. i dunno. i like him but i wish i could see a little more from him.
Sean, again, doing idiot things on defense. Some of it looks like it has more to do with the reefer smoke than his being a rookie.
devin manhandled deron today by pushing the break. With a point guard like devin, all this team really needs to do is improve the defense. Close out on the shooters, don't overhelp, position better down low. We need to get stops in order to take the rebound and push the ball. When we struggled during the 2nd and 3rd quarters, we had to play half-court ball because we couldnt keep their ball out of our basket. Sure we could use an outside touch also, but at this moment, they just need to worry about the defense because it's pretty pathetic at times.
And i guess we need to come up with a way to play halfcourt ball without completely stalling out. Not every team is gonna let you beat them down the floor like they did. That first quarter was ridiculous.
these last two games would have been blow outs if carter had some semblance of a shot. He's been ice cold lately getting outshot by guys like Price. He's been doing everything else though, and he's into it so I guess we'll just have to wait till the shot comes back. I like that he's attacking more though.

Bulls dominated the Jazz, we had to rally late to barely beat Milwaukee, and Celtics were handed their worst lost of the season.
You must understand that there is no energy, and you walked out lucky. Also Jefferson outplayed all of our SFs... I love Devin Harris, if you ask me, you got the better part of that deal by a mile. I was very disappointed that Diop isn't starting either. Diop is very underrated by what he can do.
I was shocked by seeing Carter scoring so little, was he injured or something?

I was at this game today, and I had a great time. This team would be awesome with a better head coach.
This team's offense looks even WORSE live than it does on television. Devin Harris needs to just push the issue like he was doing in the 3rd quarter and this team will do fine, for a stretch when the Jazz were on the verge of pushing the lead to 10+ Harris went right at them and made things happen, and he had some BEAUTIFUL assists tonight. Kudos!! And kudos to Vince because he played like a man in the 4th quarter, Vince and Harris should be the primary ball handlers, RJ just needs to play off them because they will find him or make the right play a majority of the time. Frank is absolutely clueless when it comes to adjusting on defense, the Jazz ran the same plays over and over for Korver and Boozer and no adjustments were made, he just kept calling for the same defense. Boozer scored 41 points and a good 75% of those points were due to wide open jump shots. My hat goes off to him because he played an incredible, nearly flawless game.
Sean racked 3 fouls in the FIRST QTR. He needs to control himself out there, and Frank should NOT leave him out there when he racks 2 quick fouls. Boone had an awesome game but you can see how soft this guy is in person, if he had a mean streak he'd be a monster on the boards and around the basket. Diop deserved more PT, and Boki hit some nice shots. Overall, it was a solid win for the Nets, I thought they did a stellar job on Deron Williams, but the little things that i saw out there on defense and the absolutely pointless things that were being run on offense irked the hell out of me. There was a stretch where Vince Carter just stood out there and got paid while Jefferson was having plays called for him and that just ground the offense to a halt. Jefferson can get his 20 points WITHOUT plays being called for him, I am sure of this. GET A CLUE FRANK!!!!!

However Im really excited for next year, this team is showing promise now that it gelled together after the trade and all we really need is a spot on shoter and with a good pick and plenty of cap space this off-season I see us getting it done.

back-to-back wins vs quality opponents !
The way 76ers are playing it's gonna be 8th seed or out but 8th is better for the Nets imo since Detroit is a total mismatch in style & frontcourt. HUGE back-to-back games @ Chicago on Tuesday / Atlanta on Wednesday.
Nets got a bit lucky with Korver missing a few good looks at the end and getting fouls called throughout the game that I've seen many times not called which helped put Utah in the penalty in a few quarters but that was also partly because of the Nets intent to attack the paint. Nets also got away with some fouls on defensive end that were no calls. It seemed the only guy who got screwed on fouls was SWat (specifically the questionable push on the back on Boozer for the offensive rebound / the and 1 with his forearm on Okur). Also, you can see that Deron & Co., left their legs in Boston and that really helped the Nets out. Boozer's lil' kick jumpshot and the pick & roll with Deron does remind me of the Mailman / Stockton but the latter two were tougher/dirtier and Malone had better post game and Stockton had better vision (I think Deron holds / handles the ball a tad too long whereas someone like Chris Paul releases it a tad earlier for better scoring opportunities) but Deron is still a beast.
This is the best I've seen Devin as a Net. He was pushing the ball and throwing up ridiculous alley-oops to RJ / Boone / VC in the 1st quarter and then went for his own and killed it in the 3rd. He did a good job on a tired Deron Williams (w/ good help defense from the other Nets) and had a huge rebound at the end of the game. Only thing I hated was his heat check 3pt attempt at the last minutes of the game with Nets down 3..awful, but he made up for it with a nice baseline jumpshot to cut the lead to 1.
Boone once again proving me wrong. Dude was running full court all game long, making himself available for scoring opportunities and even made a nice assist in the 1st quarter.
RJ was solid again today. Game winner just about summed up his game. It was great seeing him just outrun the Jazz in the 1st quarter time and time again for easy buckets.
Vince has been driving alot lately (because he realizes his jumpshot has gone into the toilet) and it payed off this game because he was getting the calls. That spin / dunk in the 4th was classic VC. I wonder what has happened to him jumpshot, it's so miserable right now. Stella needs to get her groove back ! In the meantime I'm happy seeing non-jumpshot VC's intent if not the execution. A few things about his game annoyed me today
- when RJ was on his butt and had the ball he inexplicably didn't throw it to VC who was right in front of him but then after Jazz surround RJ , VC moves to an impossible angle for RJ to get him the ball wtf.
- his help D. This is every game. He over helps. He was sliding over to Deron after pick & roll drive at top of the key way too much leaving his man on the 3pt baseline open. That's really the job for the frontcourt man to slide over for help D and then weakside D to shift also, and leave weakside perimeter open not VC's man who is the easiest for Deron to see/pass too.
but again I really like his intent and his overall hustle. Some guys who are 'offensive players' arent' willing or aren't able to do anything else if the orange ball isn't going through the hoop but VC's struggles on offense isn't stopping him for helping the Nets in other areas.

thanx for setting us straight...
maybe nowhere soon, but it was a nice win...Devin with a near triple double, Carter getting to the line while making 13-14fts... and RJ coming up with some big shots...lets not forget Boone, great game even with Boozer going off, his scoring and rebounding plus a couple of blocks helps neutralize some of their front line production...Boki of the bench with a 3 needed 3pt baskets, a nice one later in the 4th...
you gotta be happy with the Nets competing like we did at home vs. a team like the Jazz...

Again, I just wanted to tell you guys how awesome Devin Harris is when he takes charge and LEADS this team, he really impressed me with his play. That 3rd quarter is how he should play the entire game, Frank needs to let the kid do what he has to do and in half court settings we should be feeding Carter and Krstic the ball, THATS IT, otherwise, the Nets should be running hard with this kid. And all that talk about him being a shooting guard...no. That's a pack of nonsense. Devin Harris is not Jason Kidd and never will be, but that guy can go out there, break the d down, and make plays for others, he is a legit point guard and i believe will be the leader of the Nets when we get the roster touched up a bit(and Frank fired). Those assists he got last night were not a fluke, this guy was looking and making the correct plays to his teammates.
This team is better than their record indicates and they are better than the effort we've seen the last 3 weeks. As far as beating Boston, no, i don't think we can, not due to the talent we have because we are quite the talented team, but due to our coaching.

Despite the negatives people are saying about Swift this game, he had a pretty good game. Yes, he made 2 dumb mistakes. But he made up for it the following consequtive possessions. He dove for a steal on Deron, and defended a high pick on roll on Korver that led to his TO.
The other positives - crucial minutes that led us to play big and keep Boozer from dominating the boards in the 1st half. Swift had 3 "tapped" rebounds that all led to fastbreak buckets. He changed shots from the wings that beat ours, and moved well without the ball, which allowed 1on1 driving lanes for our slashers.
Point is, playing big definately allowed us more opportunites on both ends. It's only a matter of more consistent minutes, until his teammates start knowing how to reward. Vince missed a lob that would of gave him an open dunk. And he missed his FTs. Don't worry, he's going to have a breakout game soon enough.
