that is an utterly absurd take.
absurd as in Tmac was shut down and held to 0 points in the 1st half or as in Kobe was shut down, but scored 24 point in the game? on which of these staments does shut down not apply?

Wow, we fight more with each other than with the outside team. This board is divided between Lo and Kobe. What a joke.

No, not really. There are just a few that make it out like that.

Snaq's on the other hand doesn't smell too bad most of the time. I think he takes really good care of his unlike some of other posters here. ;)

You ambushed me in the middle of a basketball game.

WHat the hell do you expect?

If I were going to grade our players today this is how it will be:

Kobe (11-33 shooting) C-
Fisher C
Ronny (13, 8 and 3) B+
Rad D +
Lamar(7-10) A
17 pts, 11 rebs, 2 blks

Everyone needs to settle down. Without Bynum and Pau we just aren't a very good team. It is what it is. To start the daily blame game is dumb. This isn't our team.

Fisher gets an F-. All Alston does is shoot 3s, so I guess that means I should go under the screen every time. Ya, that's a great idea. Farmar wasn't much better. Awful, awful defense at the PG position.

Agreed. I'm not sure why everyone's flipping out so severely.

Granted, it's not going to be much fun to watch us slide down the standings over the next week or so, especially with the top seed ripe for the picking. But I'm not sure what else can be expected. We lost our second and third best players, and our interior depth is virtually nil.

The thin-skinned might want to tune out for a while because there's a good chance we're going to get absolutely crushed by Dallas and Utah.

As for today...as much as I loathe moral victories, I thought it was a relatively decent performance considering it was still a two-point game midway through the fourth despite our many shortcomings (two starters out, on the road, quality opponent on the mother of all hot streaks, Kobe's wretched shooting, inconsistent/poor defense, etc., etc.).

We obviously could have played a lot better, but I didn't see anything to make me want to jump off the bandwagon considering the circumstances.

Good game guys, when you get healthy, I still think you and the Spurs are the team to beat in the West. Best of luck with the rest of the season.

Why do we attempt to run pick the pick and roll with Mbenga? Kobe was looking for him like he was Gasol or something.

I am not suprised by this loss.

I am suprised however that, we played such a horrible game, without our 2nd and 3rd options, and still had a chance to win up till the last 5 mins of the game.

Being a laker fan is tough. So many highs and lows.

When the season started, morale was low. Kobe gonna ride with us? Then, we played well for a bit, got some confidence and Bynum devolped into a formidable presence. Then, he goes down. Sadness and stories of our demise arise. Bynum out months, just when we were playing and gelling together. We begining losing games and it took 50 from Kobe to beat the sonics. Why god why? Then, our prayers were answered. God sent us an spanish savior. Joy overcomes all. Championship talk runs rampant in LA. Gasol came in and bam, we start crushing teams and playing at a championship level and look forward to this 4 game road trip to show how good we are. We never get to show our talents because Gasol gets injured first minute of first game of road trip. Sadness ensues. We lose to the hornets. Much anticipated matchup with the overrated rockets never actually is a matchup at all as we are missing several key pieces. The light at the end of the tunnel continues to shine yellow and purple. The thought of a returning Bynum, Gasol, and inspired laker team continue to give laker fans hope. I am one of these hopefulls.

Our schedule is tough. We do not play the kings well. The blazers have had our number for awhile. We play the hornets again and the spurs.

As dissapointing as it sounds, we could foreseeable not make the playoffs. Yesterday we were #1. Next sunday we may be number #8. That is life in the western conference.

But at the end of the day, you know what? I will follow this team through this rollercoaster ride because I am a true fan and will love the lakers win or lose.

Let's cheer up. Be thankful that our future is bright.

i really am starting to question phil and his methods, even when we are winning...

in the third quarter we outscored them 22-12...mbenga played all but one minute of the third...

in the fourth, he didnt see the light of day, while does phil tend to go away of from things that work all the time? it is increasingly frustrating to see this sort of decisions when almost every game weve lost, are and were winable, why does our coaching staff always seem to go away from the hot hand or the hot role player... :banghead: :nonono:  :noway:

It's quite annoying when all a person can do is think of the absolute worst case when it's involving the team they "claim" to be a fan of.

I would never want someone on my team who didn't think we could win ever. Any way props to you guys for thinking like me.

Deep3CL, if you do not like what posters have to say here is a crazy idea. You can ignore them?? Nice concept huh?

If my "opinion" bothers you so much then do not respond to them. There is a reason why this is a internet basketball forum. You must be delusional if you are comparing an opinion on an internet forum to "real life basketball." Whoever said I was on your team?? This is an Internet Forum not real life basketball. Get that straight. I am sure there is a Lakers Love Fest Forum board somewhere online, so if you cannot stand any realistic negative views of this team, feel free to join a love fest Laker forum where 24/7 of the time people will only say positive things.

For the record, it looks like my previous comment about how we will lose and how Kobe will shoot poorly was correct. Next time at least wait until after you are right to judge someone.

I asked myself the same question. I think Kobewas secretly wishing that Bynum taught Mbenga some offensive move so he attempted those lobs.

We didn't win the 3rd because of Mbenga, we won the 3rd because we were playing good defense, especially for the first 9 minutes of the quarter.

kobe ran the pick n roll with the big man, dj, because thats the only way that the paint won't get clogged up. running with lamar and anyone else not playing center leaves the lane crowded. its the same thing that phoenix struggled with when running pick n roll with amare while shaq and his man were in the paint. dj got some pretty good looks out of it, just gotta hope they go down more often than not. they weren't any worse than some of kobe's desperation shots.
