Post#1 » by bill curley II » Mon Mar 17, 2008 12:39 am

 March Madness is finally here. I know we have a thread on draft prospects, but hopefully this can be more about the tournament, your predictions, sleeper teams, etc..

My final four:
Tennessee
Kansas
Stanford
UCLA

UCLA over Kansas

Sleepers:
Indiana
St Joes
Nova

Kansas is the best college basketball team. Chuck got one call right this year. Kansas.

too bad they underperform every single year. btw i called bucknell over kansas 3 years ago. anyways, i can't see them going past georgetown. they'll beat vandy. unc vs duke in the finals.

biggest upset: kansas st over usc and villanova over clemson. don't be fooled by clemson people.

I'll go with Pitt-UCLA or Kansas to win it all.

Yeah I think Bill Self is a mediocre coach at best, and I cringe everytime he puts the ball in Russell Robinson's hands at the end of a close game.

I dont think KSt over USC is that big of an upset. I do have USC in that game b/c I think Jefferson and Gibson should do just enough to slow down Beasley, and Floyd's triangle and two defense matches up perfectly with KSt's team.

Also, I like your pick of Nova over Clemson. Before the seedings, I had Clemson as a team that could make it to the sweet 16, but they got a really tough 1st round matchup against a team that should be able to match Clemson's full court press and defend the perimeter against their guards.

Making it to two straight final fours and losing to eventual champions Florida is choking?

I'd say so. they should've won last year and the year before. now they lost their chance. well not really. but i dont think they will win.

1) I think the team is well aware of the potential they haven't reached, and are focused and motivated by it.

2) Rush is playing for a 1st round contract. He's going to elevate his game and carry them. He probably has more to gain financially than almost anyone else in the tournamnet. If he doesn't look like a superstar now, it's off to Japan to ball with O'Bannon. He doesn't want that.

I know. My head tells me Kansas, but my heart can't follow this time. I'm not sure who I'm going with. All I know is not a darn thing is going to get done at work on Thursday and Friday.

what's your biggest second round upset?
i have butler over tennessee. butler was my darkhorse to make the final four this year, but in reality i think they won't get past louisville.

Lets Go Baron Davis...i dont care what jersey you put on. Lets go.
Big Smooth is focused and ready to handle the centers of the league.
Curry and Ellis will be a top 5 back court this season. 6/25/2010

Wow. This is the most respect I can remember the WCC getting. St Mary's got in as a #10 on an at large bid.

And I can't remember the last time an ACC team with a winning conference record was left out. Hokies must be bumming.
