It was like driving a sled without hand brakes in the snow, I could let it idle into a turn and do 360's without touching the gas...sniff.

Thanks. They were always a good topic starter when filling up on gas. I still have the rights, but I'm not going to spend 90 bucks to hang onto the rights on renewal. The plates just wouldn't be correct on my Acura MDX.

Nice, the LS1's open up pretty quickly. When I lived in Austin, a buddy of mine had an SS LS1, he threw on exhaust and some lid for the intake which was no more then $300 in parts and gained 43RWHP from just that. It was fun because a friend of ours down there owned a performance shop with a dyno, he always let us have access to it for nothing.

I had so much fun down there, the cars and street racing scene is ridiculous.

I hope you're considering the cost of gas as well, because both of the cars you listed average under 20mpg...

Well I have a truck right now, so gas really isn't an issue for me. I'm lucky if I even get 11mpg with my gas guzzler.

Mine was a '67 RS

One other thing, you know how your father's car was cared for. If your father takes good care of his vehicles, then it is a huge advantage to keep what you know rather than buying what is unknown....
