Just a coincidence that right after the 1st quarter is when this was posted?

Well if you want to get technical, the post was made at 9:31 PM EST. The game started at roughly 9:10 EST so the first quarter was not even over by the time I made the post. I was watching the box score and the Sonics were down by like 8-10 points when I started punching in my post just before 9:30 EST.

i believe shaq's older than anyone on the nuggets. nash is up there too. as are duncan & kidd.
Because those teams aren't done, duh. Phoenix and the Spurs are slowly declining but they do have potential the win it all this year and possibly next. This thread isn't about teams that are declining, it's about a team now that has no chance of winning the title (they aren't even in the playoffs as of now) and at the same time won't be seeing any brighter skies in the near future.
corona wrote:-= original quote snipped =-tmac & davis will be in their 30's shortly. why not make a thread about their potential(s) passing?
The best player on their respective teams who "will be in their 30's" by the end of next season is a lot different than two of their top three guys who are already in their early-mid 30's. And even if for arguments sake if there were other teams were in the same boat as Denver, I am talking about the Nuggets and not other teams.
I also never said that Iverson/Camby are declining yet. All I stated was that by NBA standards, they are starting to get up there in age and time is not on their side. They may very well keep up their solid play for years to come, but that's uncertain. But what I can say is that they aren't going to magically get better and their best years are NOW. The Nuggets chance at contending is NOT magically going to get better next season barring any unforeseen off-season moves.
I realize that the West is a brutal conference but if a team is currently out of the playoffs struggling to find a way in it does say something about their chances of contending.

Well having 2 starters back healthy that have been out almost the entire season should help. Maybe just a little.

wait...the regular season's over?
gosh. someone should have told me.
my bed, but seriously i think what hes implying is regardless if you make the playoffs or not, the team is not going anywhere for so many reasons, so trade your vets for picks and young talent, cap relief, and build around melo.
the vets decline is bound to happen soon, so you need to trade them especially since they have high value now.

Must be true, if it's a rumor you read on Hoopshype.

well...considering there were about 150 possessions in the game for seattle, and there were scrubs giving little resistance through the whole 4th quarter, giving up 116 isn't that bad.
i imagine its quite difficult to score 168 points while only allowing 90. i really really doubt its been done before.

Funny time to see this thread from a Sonics fan.
Any of the top 9 teams in the west I really feel has a shot at winning it this year. Its so close, so competitive, its gonna come down to the end. The Nuggets may be behind right now, but if they get on a good streak, watch out because they are as talented as anyone else in this leave.

I think they'll be fine..they need some changes obviously
Iverson is gonna play well into his late 30s...he's a warrior in the truest sense of the word..
Carmelo is a young beast
Camby people forget has not warn out..he's missed so many games due to injuries..he'll have fresh legs still...
Those 3 guys are good..
Nene i'm not sure about...his recovery...
Martin should be traded..
