Anyone who's in favor of signing Green clearly don't care about winning but just flashy dunks and other meaningless fluf.
Sign Ira Newble, we need more veterans that put an effort on the defensive end, we have enough young potential.

With the news of Gasol, we should get Newble. Green is a great possibility if we had time but remember we are trying to win now. Kobe is happy that we got Gasol, but he wants to contend again, he doesnt want to wait a couple more years. Green would have been a good pickup say if we didnt have Coby, since Kobe would have been able to teach him a thing or two. But Newble is the guys we need in the playoffs. I say this because there hasnt been much word on Arizas injury.

I know he's nothing to be overjoyed about, but Newble is at least a veteran who plays hard defense. It's not like he's going to be our starting or even a backup forward. Right now, though, we're pretty thin and need to add someone to the lineup to take the load off of our guys.
Let's keep in mind how brittle Luke and Vlad have been. If one of those guys goes down we're looking at falling out of the playoffs. The race is just too tight this year.

Free Agents to look at...
Now with Paul down we might want to look at some vets to come in and play a couple games. Here are some guys i think should be looked at..
Ira Newble
Jelani McCoy
Michael Olowokandi
Mike Sweetney
Wayne Simien
Danny Fortson
There some vets and McCoy is on the D-League. Do you think anyone is Free agency can help the Lakers out for a couple games?

there is a reason all of those guys are available.
It's like going to a club to pick up girls and finding a few ugly ones holding up the wall with no guys trying to get at them.
but on the other hand sure why not waste a few million dollars on one of those stiffs that wont leanr our offense in time for playoffs!
However there is Green and he's a guy who is young and has potnetial and upside, maybe scoop him up before someone else does. but of course we wont be able to get any burn out of him for a few years.
perhaps it's best to just stick with what we have and let our guys at the end of the bench take advantage of the ijuries and get some PT
