he has the blocking ability no-european has . he has those long arms and unexpected agility. start to attention to this guy cos he'll be a ginobili like steal if he enters.

turkish basketball league stats: 11.1 pts 9 reb 1.9 bl
euroleague stats: 8.1 pts 6.1 reb 2.4 bl ( with 19 blocks / 5 games in top 16 , he has the record )

12.8 is his ranking stat. His ppg is 8.1.

He's a shot-blocking machine (2.4 blocks in just 20 mpg)... he may remind of Pau Gasol without the offense.

Asik is no one to laugh at.....I really feel that if he was in the US, he would be considered a solid mid 20's draft pick......very long and nicely athletic......needs to add to his skill set but is young enough to still realistically do so......

Better than Beasley, Lopez or Jordan? I didn't think so.

EDIT: Hibbert, Thabeet...

Like grape drink with no purple stuff.

Pau Gasol with no offense is pretty damn useless

Pau Gasol? That comparison is off, if anything he has a lot of similarities with Andris Biedrins.

Beasley and Lopez > Asik

by a large margin.

Beasley a legit big man?!? How do you compare him (a SF/PF combo) to a 7-0 C?

Beasley is the best player of the draft but i doubt he's the best big... someone projects him like Carmelo at 3 spot and with his decent but not great size (6-8) is probably more suited at that position.

I was wrong about Gasol without offense/Asik comparison... Biedrins seems pretty fair to me.

Who would you rather take Hibbert or Omer Asik?

From an NBA potential standpoint (when you consider size, strength, athleticism and upside), is he even the best C in Turkey right now?

While I think this is a good/valid point with Erden being even on the same team as this guy.......I am having a hard time ignoring Omer's consistency.....also, sure Erden has some intriguing ball skills and a nice soft touch, but his lapses of effort place him right behind Asik IMO but not far as I actually really like both of these players' potential

I think Beasley is at least 6'9. By basketball measurement standards (ie: with shoes) I wouldn't be surprised if the 6'10 he's listed at is perfectly accurate. His game is PF all the way. He could be Boozer with better D.

i think biedrins comparison is a good one for now , about hibbert , i'd ask that; is that a serious question , too . i think hibbert showed everyone what he is and what is not capable of .

anyway... just i wanted people to be aware of him , let's wait and see how great he'll be.
