I'm sorry i do not know whose original post this is, if this is your step forward and take credit
Okay, 18 straight losses to San Antonio had to end. But it actually took a
herculean and perhaps one of the all time greatest individual Celtic
efforts to win a game at crunch time by Paul Pierce.
Am I exaggerating? I don't think so. Here are the amazing facts.
1. San Antonio has the best defensive team this year and has been the best
defensive team of the last 10 years.
2. San Antonio was playing at home.
3. San Antonio is top 3 team and Boston is bottom 2.
4. Bruce Bowen has been the best defensive wing player in NBA for nearly a
decade.
5. The momentum was with San Antonio coming from 75-56 deficit to 83-81 lead.
So what exactly did Paul Pierce do?
1. He hits exceedingly difficult fadeaway jumper (all net) over extreme
defensive pressure from Bowen and helpers to tie at 83.
2. He does it again to bring us back from 85-83 deficit.
3. He does it yet again to give us 89-85 lead.
4. He scores 6 of our last 10 points in last 2 minutes.
How about defensively?
1. He flashes at Tony Parker causing him to travel on what should have
been easy layup.
2. He takes charge from Ginobilli which not only took guts but brains as
he had to figure out the play in advance to get to spot.
3. He pokes ball out of Bowen's hand which leads to Green's game winning
dunk.
4. He prevents 6 points in last 2 minutes.
In summary:
1. Leads 2nd worst team to comeback victory over 3rd best team on the road
after blowing huge lead by scoring 6 points and preventing 6 points in
last 2 minutes.
2. Oh yeah, and this all happened after he injured his knee diving for
loose ball!
Talk about a will to win.
DAMN RIGHT PAUL PIERCE IS THE FRANCHISE!
