ramdom issues on the Gasoless Lakers

-will LO go back to his inconsistant self with his tired "I'm not confortable with being the second scorerer" excuse and let us down?

-are we out of the playoffs?

-will Bynums return be moved up now that we need him?

-when is Mihm comming back and would he help?

-are the Lakers gonna sign another center to a 10 day contract or just ride it out and hope for the best?

-will Kobe explode with scoring in order to carry the team to the playoffs and leave behind the rest of the team in the process and disrupt the chemestry they have?

-if his scoring goes up would he catch Lebron for the scoring tittle?

-would Kobe be perceived as selfish again for taking charge of the scoring and would that turn the media against Kobe for MVP?

-Yes;

-Possibly if Gasol misses more than two weeks;

-Hell no. He is in a contract year and the last thing he will want to do is to risk injury;

-I thought he was done for the season. He could help but not the difference maker we are looking for unless he is back his old self;

-They missed out on Theo Ratliff who could've really helped us even with Bynum and Gasol here. The problem now is that there is nobody left out there;

-I sure hope so. There is nobody else on this team that can step their game up like Kobe does. Without Kobe scoring like crazy, we are a borderline playoff team at best;

-I doubt it, because LeBron also scores like crazy due to his team having nobody else to shoulder the scoring load for him;

-Absolutely. The media is now talking about LeBron should be MVP when his team is only as good as 10th seed in the west. Media doesn't care about who deserves to be the MVP, they have Kobe and will do anything in their power to prevent him from winning the MVP;

-will people abandon all reason and visual evidence, expect odom to be a 2nd option and be disappointed when he isn't?

My own mindless thoughts:

I think our chemistry left when Pau sprained his ankle. Before that, when Bynum sprained his knee.

If we want improved chemistry, the player who can provide that is Luke Walton, at least historically. He's got plenty of detractors, and there's no question his jumper has been inconsistent and his health questionable. But he'll help the ball move.

I don't think Bynum is coming back early, due to the severity of his injury. I have a feeling they'll err on the side of caution.

I read Mihm is going to practice with the team after the road trip. He would definitely help if he's healthy, but it's been so long since he has been healthy.

I think Kobe is definitely going to increase his scoring as he did last night. Even with Pau, we were giving up a lot of points. With Bynum still out, the chance that we're going to play consistent defense is unlikely. We just don't have the personnel, imo. So we're going to have to win on extraordinary performances, from either Kobe and/or his teammates.

I agree with you, I think there's a high probability that the media is going to question his selfishness and lack of trust - only if we keep losing. The media tends to ignore the context, looking at only the bottom-line. Are they winning or not?

Farmar and Turiaf are the two most likely candidates for expanded roles. Turiaf, because he's the only big man standing, aside from Mbenga. Farmar, because he's currently our second best scorer after Kobe, and we need that production.

Kobe alluded to this, even directly after the game, saying that they're going to have to "play on the move" before defenses set up. We're going to have to push the ball, and play scrappy on defense, and hopefully Kobe has some more amazing stuff left in his tank.

Phil is going to have to earn his money in this stretch, because we can't just run the offense. We need to play the mismatches, we need to find angles and advantages, and we need to hide our weaknesses.

all he has to do is keep doing what he is doing and he will be the second scorerer, but for some reason I get the feeling that he will just suck until Gasol or Bynum comeback.

There is nothing in here about defense which is our biggest problem even with Gasol. Gasol was here when we lost to the Raptors and Kings because our defense was terrible

these are just ramdom thoughts not a list of any sort. I didn't include defense in the first place because it was to obvious, but if it makes you happy:
-no big man in the middle = no interior defense.
-no Ariza = no perimeter defense

so we lost to the Raptors?

Gasol was there in those 2 loses (i guess you mean the blazers) and also in 14 (
